WELCOME TO THE HELLFIRE GAMES The Hellfire Games are a high-energy D&D experience inspired by the Hellfire Club vibes from Stranger Things and classic boxed-set adventures, dialed up with metal album art, dramatic arenas, and just enough infernal flavor to keep things spicy. You and your fellow participants enter deadly challenges, strange scenarios, and cinematic encounters where teamwork, creativity, and knowing your character matter more than raw power. Win glory, gold, and bragging rights. Loseā¦ well, you still get a great story. This is a fast-moving, show-forward game focused on fun, cooperation, and spectacle. Think dungeon crawl meets battle royale meets late-night metal concert energy. No prior Hellfire knowledge required. Just bring your character, your dice, and a willingness to put on a good show. Welcome to the pit. š„šø *You may bring 2014 or 2024 characters. They can be between levels 3-5, but NEW characters start at 3. You may import a character of up to 5th level and the Host will need to inspect and approve of them first. Preferably no homebrew, but the final call lies with the Host.* *By joining this Game, you have agreed to have your person (and essence) recorded for later viewing or live streamed in front of a live audience in the Nine Hells. Before you step into the Hellfire Games, youāll need to secure yourā¦ essence. Some call it a soul. Some call it a character sheet. Semantics bore me. What matters is that itās properly documented and easy to reference when things start exploding. For those in a hurry, I recommend harvesting your essence through D&D Beyond. Itās fast, clean, and keeps everything neatly organized when the chaos begins. Pre-generated characters are perfectly acceptable, as are quickly assembled builds. Speed is a virtue. If you prefer crafting something more personal, youāre welcome to do so. The Hellfire Games follow organized play standards as closely as possible, with balance and fairness in mind. That said, exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis if the concept is compelling, the mechanics are sound, and you ask nicely. I do enjoy a good pitch. Please ensure your character is complete, functional, and ready to perform. Knowing what you can do keeps the Games moving and the audience entertained. Bring your essence prepared. Youāll want access to Discord for voice and coordination, and a Roll20 account for maps, dice, and the delightful illusion of control. Please test both beforehand. Technical fumbling is far less entertaining than heroic failure. Find a quiet, comfortable space where you can focus and be heard. The Hellfire Games thrive on momentum, and distractions have a habit of stealing spotlight from everyone involved. A reliable microphone is strongly encouraged. Clear audio keeps the action flowing. If your mic sounds like itās being swallowed by a mimic, consider an upgrade. Finally, bring a positive attitude.
