About the adventure
Their Majesty's finest train for every possible scenario, but fortune loves a good twist. Hell of a time to wing it. The realm's largest—and ostensibly safest—provincial capital is under siege. Far from the borders of any rival nation, Their Majesty's gryphon cavalry is engaged in a pitched battle in the skies while the local garrison fights in the streets like rats. Against who? Against what? Reports are spotty and conflicting. One way or another, you're not in the business of just assuming it's a coincidence that the crown princess is there on holiday, so gear up. Infiltrate the city, find Princess Serafina, escort her out. Everything else is a non-priority. A Crisis of Succession is a gritty 10th level one-shot adventure where the party's decisions will shape the future of an entire realm. Such is the nature of things when royalty is involved. Take on the roles of the Sovereign's most elite agents, called up on short notice and thrust into a crisis situation. You have little intel and only one goal: ensure survival for the realm's first and only heir. There is no margin for failure. Original photo by Luigi Boccardo on Unsplash

About me
Ladies, gentlemen, and friends from beyond the binary—well met, and a pleasure to meet indeed! As you step inside, do please leave your boots at the door. All settled in? Then come, and picture with me the following… A group of four, clad in the colors of their order and armed with weapons of the Old World. They tread with caution through the decrepit remains of a once-proud public library—best to be wary of the new librarians. Or instead, imagine this—a devil-horned man and an angel-winged woman ready their suppressed handguns, stack up on either side of a door, and nod beneath the flickering fluorescent light. The point of no return is nigh—if the gods won’t act, they’ll handle it themselves. Or picture yet again—pandemonium! The lich-king has won, and skeleton warriors run amok in the streets! There’s no stopping them now—how will you survive? These unique worlds and more await at my table. Players new and experienced alike are welcome—the only requirement is a good attitude!

Creating your character
Characters will be level 10, and completed character sheets should be brought to the game. In-depth backstories are not required for this particular game—a set of traits, ideals, bonds, and flaws ought to be enough. The crown looks for the most loyal subjects to serve as its elite agents, but for gameplay purposes, your character just needs to be willing to work with the other characters. A selection of pre-made characters is also available to choose from in Roll20.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Voice communication will be handled through Discord, with Roll20 for visual aids. Beyond that, just bring your character sheet, imagination, and a good attitude! How Carson | Fabled Folklore Gaming creates a safe table
Expect deadly combat interspersed with roleplay. This game thrusts the party into the middle of a bad situation, and they may have to make some unpleasant decisions in service of their goal. Players will face open-ended scenarios and it is up to them to choose how to best approach them, but confrontation is ultimately inevitable, and not everyone can be saved. To help ensure players have a safe and fun time in the midst of otherwise potentially distressing fiction, my tables employ common safety tools: lines and veils, the X-card, and open door. Players are welcome to request other safety tools.
