About the adventure

After getting into trouble with the local Baroness, your punishment has been handed down: you must spend the next hundred years together... as roommates. If you can't learn to behave in that time, you'll meet a harsher more permanent solution. In this mini-campaign of Vampire: The Masquerade, you play undead roommates struggling with the mundane aspects of modern life, like paying rent, household chores, trying to get into nightclubs, and overcoming interpersonal conflicts. Time flies when you're embraced. The high roleplay, rules light mini-campaign runs for eight sessions bi-weekly.

About me

Hello, misadventurers! I've been running games since 2014 and have many years of performance experience as the Dungeon Master on the family-friendly podcast, d20 Dames which ran from 2017-2023. When I'm not running games, I'm a freelance game designer and author at my owner-operated company, Steampunk Unicorn Studio. I've worked for clients such as Hasbro, Larian Studios, Wizards of the Coast, MCDM, Hit Point Press, and Roll & Play Press, and my game credits include: Blood in Baldur’s Gate, Betrayal at House on the Hill 3E, HeroQuest, and Divinity Original Sin the Board Game. My latest book, How to Be More D&D (Running Press Books), is an officially licensed publication through Dungeons & Dragons (Wizards of the Coast) and I was also a Creative Laureate with the Storytelling Collective in 2022.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters can be created beforehand in consultation with other players & Storyteller on Discord. Please reach out ahead of the game if you have any questions.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a mic for Discord. Webcam is optional. A beginner level understanding of VtM rules is necessary to play the game but I'm happy to help newer players learn as we go. You will need your character sheet and dice (either physical or virtual depending on your preferences).

What Kat Kruger brings to the table

You'll get some fun voices and NPCs from me. I will also provide a private Discord server in which to play the game and chat with other players.

Safety

How Kat Kruger creates a safe table

An RPG Consent Checklist will be sent ahead of the first session. Safety tools are discussed before the campaign begins. Generally speaking I do not describe gore in gruesome detail and do expect sex to be consensual and offscreen. Most of my games focus on narrative and character development so I will also be including a character questionnaire to better understand your character and their motivations.
