About the adventure
In In Nomine, a secret War rages beneath the surface of the modern world. Archangels and Demon Princes vie for control of the Symphony—the cosmic harmony that binds all existence—while humanity remains largely unaware of the forces shaping its fate. In this introductory adventure, players step into that hidden conflict as angels or demons tasked with investigating a dangerous disturbance before it escalates beyond control. The source of the disturbance is an abandoned house and a reckless sorcerer dabbling in forbidden rituals, aided by a demon with their own agenda. As you uncover what is happening, you will be faced with meaningful choices: confront the threat directly, manipulate events from the shadows, or persuade the culprits to abandon their plans. Combat is possible, but clever thinking, roleplay, and understanding your character’s role in the War are just as important. This game is designed specifically for new players to In Nomine. Rules will be taught as we play, pre-generated characters will be available, and no prior knowledge of the setting is required. Expect a story-driven session focused on investigation, moral tension, and learning how angels, demons, and the Symphony interact in play. If you are curious about narrative-heavy games with supernatural themes and impactful choices, this is an ideal place to begin.

About me
With over 30 years of experience in tabletop roleplaying games, I bring a deep love of classic systems and immersive storytelling to every table I run. My roots are firmly planted in old-school gaming—especially AD&D—but I also actively run and enjoy modern systems, including D&D 5e (2024). I have a strong preference for rich, lore-driven settings. When using established fantasy systems, I most often run games in Dragonlance or within my own original DireLands campaign world, both of which emphasize character-driven narratives, meaningful choices, and long-term consequences. In addition to fantasy, I specialize in darker, more atmospheric campaigns. I run a fully homebrewed cosmic horror setting using the In Nomine system, inspired by World of Darkness themes and infused with elements of Clive Barker and classic monsters. These games focus on moral tension, surreal horror, and unsettling mysteries. Whether guiding epic heroes or exploring the shadows of the unknown, my goal as a Game Master is to create memorable stories, collaborative worlds, and engaging experiences for every player at the table.

Creating your character
This game uses pre-generated characters to ensure a smooth and approachable introduction to In Nomine. Players will choose from one of three minor angel characters, each in the service of an Archangel and already assigned to investigate a disturbance in the Symphony. These characters are designed to showcase different aspects of the system and setting, allowing new players to learn the rules and themes without needing prior familiarity with character creation. All characters will be selected at the start of the session; no preparation is required beforehand. Statistics, abilities, and roles are already determined, and I will explain how they function during play. This approach allows us to focus on learning the core mechanics, roleplaying, and understanding how angels interact with the Symphony, rather than spending time on rules-heavy setup. Players will need to sign up to my discord (https://discord.gg/wh6Jem4JNS) as this is a live-streamed Actual Play. You will also need to have a Roll20 account (https://roll20.net/). No additional books or materials are required. This session is intended as a guided introduction, and I will walk players through rules, rolls, and character options as they come up in play.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
This game is a live-streamed actual play, so a small amount of preparation is required before the session. Players must have a working microphone and camera suitable for livestreaming, as all participants will be visible and audible during play. Please ensure your setup is tested in advance to avoid technical issues during the session. Players will need to join my Discord server (https://discord.gg/wh6Jem4JNS), which will be used for voice, video, coordination, and pre-game communication. Familiarity with Discord’s basic voice and video functions is recommended, but no advanced knowledge is required. A Roll20 account (https://roll20.net/) is also required, as Roll20 will be used for character sheets and any necessary visual aids. No paid Roll20 subscription is needed. Characters will be pre-loaded, and I will provide guidance on how to use the interface at the start of the session if needed. No additional software or rulebooks are required. Aside from ensuring your microphone, camera, Discord access, and Roll20 account are ready, players do not need to complete any advance reading or character creation before the game.
What AdamPC brings to the table
I will provide a guided, beginner-friendly introduction to In Nomine, with all necessary materials prepared in advance. This includes pre-generated characters, digital character sheets in Roll20, and clear explanations of the rules and setting as they arise in play. No prior knowledge of the system or lore is required; teaching the game is an explicit part of the session. My GM style emphasizes story, investigation, and player choice over intense tactical combat. While combat can occur, encounters are designed to support the narrative and to showcase how conflict works in In Nomine, rather than to test system mastery. Creative problem-solving, roleplay, and moral decision-making are encouraged and rewarded. I generally follow the Rules as Written, especially when introducing a new system, but will prioritize clarity and pacing when needed. I use light character voices and tone shifts to help distinguish NPCs and enhance immersion, but performance is never required from players. Ambient music may be used subtly to support mood without overpowering conversation. Players can expect a respectful, structured table environment focused on collaboration, learning, and telling a compelling story within the cosmic conflict of Heaven and Hell.

How AdamPC creates a safe table
All of my games are designed to be welcoming and inclusive for players of all ages and experience levels. I use the X, N, & O check-in system to ensure everyone feels comfortable with the content, and we take regular breaks for sessions longer than two hours. After each session, we follow up with a Stars and Wishes feedback check-in to hear what worked well and what could be improved. My goal is to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment where players can focus on story, exploration, and collaboration without worry.
