About the adventure
Pacific Rim: The Last Jaegers of Canada is a high energy, comedy centric D&D 5E campaign inspired by giant robots, bigger monsters, and the most over-the-top Canadian stereotypes imaginable. The world has fallen to kaiju attacks, leaving Canada and a handful of stubborn city-states as humanity’s last line of defense. You are elite pilots in control of towering Jaegers to save what’s left of Earth. The tone is intentionally ridiculous and cinematic. Expect exaggerated characters, bombastic action, and a setting that lovingly leans into tropes: heroic Mountie energy, hockey-stick heroics, polite apocalypse survivors, and monsters that are as goofy as they are dangerous. While the stakes are “end of the world,” the focus is on fun, spectacle, and laughing at the chaos rather than grim survival horror. Gameplay blends D&D 5E mechanics with custom rules, teamwork-focused combat, and plenty of room for roleplay both inside and outside the mech cockpit. Players who enjoy collaborative problem-solving, cinematic battles, and not taking the setting too seriously will enjoy the game. System mastery is not required - this game is beginner friendly and welcoming to new players who want to learn while doing cool stuff. If you like giant robots, cooperative heroics, dumb jokes mixed with epic moments, and saving the world one kaiju at a time, this campaign is for you. Suit up, start the reactor, and remember: humanity’s last hope wears plaid.

About me
Hi, and thanks for taking the time to learn a little more about me! I'm an indie game developer with a deep passion for history, storytelling, and the immersive power of games—whether they're on a screen or around a table. My tabletop journey began back in university, where a close-knit group of friends and I would take turns running one-shot adventures. After graduation, I joined the Canadian Armed Forces, and during that time tabletop games remained a cornerstone of my life. I often ran games with fellow officers as a way to have fun while passing the time. After completing my service, I decided to pursue my lifelong dream and went back to school to study video game development. That experience allowed me to sharpen my understanding of game mechanics, player engagement, and interactive narrative design. I’ve since worked on a range of projects, from board games to digital games, always with a focus on finding fresh, compelling ways to tell stories. Throughout it all, TTRPGs have remained a constant passion. I've had the privilege of playing and GMing in a variety of systems, often collaborating with fellow designers and storytellers to explore new mechanics and worldbuilding techniques. I love experimenting with ways to make player choices more meaningful and to weave character arcs seamlessly into the broader narrative.

Homebrew rules
There are a few homebrew rules for this campaign. Players will create two character sheets - one for their Jaeger and one for their pilot character. A further explanation will be provided before session zero. Hit point increase at level up may be rolled for or the max increase is applied. Death Saves may also add a level of exhaustion or if the players decide handled per the written rules. Other modifications are available and open to discussion at players request.

How Brandon creates a safe table
Players can look forward to a rich, immersive roleplaying experience across a wide variety of situations and encounters. NPCs are designed to be inclusive, diverse, and genuinely fun to engage with - many of whom will be romanceable, if that’s something you’re interested in exploring. We’ll begin with a Session Zero, where we’ll collaboratively build your characters' backstories and explore how they’re connected to key NPCs and locations within the world. This helps tie your characters directly into the narrative and ensures your story matters from the very start. This campaign will be run using Foundry VTT, a flexible and intuitive virtual tabletop that perfectly suits the sandbox-style, improvisational storytelling I enjoy. Combined with Theater of the Mind, this setup allows for maximum player freedom. Creating a respectful and enjoyable environment is my top priority. To support that, I use the following safety tools: ✅ Consent Form - Every player fills this out prior to the campaign to establish Lines & Veils ✅ Session Zero – To talk through expectations, boundaries, and any sensitive themes ✅ Mid-Session Break - A 10-15 minute break to recharge ✅ Open-Door Policy - Reach out to me anytime with questions, feedback, or concerns ✅ Tone Balance - Even in darker-themed stories, I lean toward humor when possible - fun comes first. ___ What a player will experience in this Campaign Roleplaying - 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Politics - 🔥🔥🔥 Tactics/Combat - 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Exploration - 🔥🔥 Puzzles - 🔥
