About the adventure

This is for folks who are brand new to the Daggerheart system. While I am also new to Daggerheart, I am a seasoned game master ready to create a rocking good time. The adventure I am using as a template is Keep on the Shadowfell. Stop the evil cult from reopening the ancient seal between our world to an unholy shrine found in the Shadowfell. This is an adventure I am familiar with, but I am going to present through the lens of Daggerheart. As a 1st level adventure, this is a great setting to get your hands dirty and experience Daggerheart for all of its glory.

About me

I have been playing TTRPGs since 1997. I am a former engineering professor. As such, teaching, integrated systems, and the math are my favorite parts of playing. I master the complicated bits, so you do not have to. I am intimately familiar with D&D (all editions) and HERO. I am also very knowledgeable in Pathfinder. I have been digging into Daggerheart and Final Fantasy XIV TTRPG.

Character creation

Creating your character

I will have a number of characters pre-built. You are free to make minor/major changes to suit your vision of your character.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I plan on using Discord for voice. I recommend head phones, but that is not necessary. You will obviously need a microphone, and I recommend playing in a room where there is not a ton going on in the background. Also prepare a lines and veils document. If you do not know what that is, we will discuss in session 0.

What Kevin Hadley brings to the table

Again, I am a seasoned GM who wants to explore the Daggerheart system. I used to be an engineering professor, so I know how to A) integrate new information fast and B) teach complex material to a variety of audiences. As such, I will teach you the content in a very digestible format. Aside from my "education" abilities, I love a good dungeon crawl. You can "roleplay" in any settings. What makes Daggerheart unique is how it handles combat and dungeon crawling. Specifically, I love illustrating a great picture of how an encounter unfolds.

Safety

How Kevin Hadley creates a safe table

You are good guys battling against the forces of evil. You may operate on the grey side of the law, but you would never kill or similar except out of self-defense of defense of the weak and innocent. Characters can have a level of moral flexibility, but be good at their core. We will discuss Lines and Veils in our session 0 (off-limits topics). I will handle after care through a google form to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves and to fine tune things for the best game possible. You can use your X, N, & O's via private nudge in the chat of discord.
