About the adventure
Relatively standard D&D-style setting, with some differences. While labeled AD&D 1e, it will be heavily houseruled to modern sensibilities and the GM's tastes. Very newbie-friendly, and expect new ideas even if you're a veteran. This campaign will be a megadungeon crawl, atleast to start, with possibility to go in other directions. No plot armor, but you can expect to be a little stronger than normal characters in an unhouseruled game, with plenty of new options.

About me
I've been GMing for over 30 years, proficient since I was a gradeschooler. My day job is as an elementary teacher, so I try to keep a lighthearted energy and am experienced with (and always happy to) take on new players and teach games, as well as accomodate player creativity and homebrew as necessary. I can go into deeper and more mature subject matters as players desire to create drama and pathos, and can guarantee weekly sessions of 3~4 hours or more. I do have some minor disabilities, so things like providing handdrawn maps will be areas I'm weak in. Friendly and accepting of all personality and culture types and demographics, as long as they're respectful of others.

Creating your character
GM will aid players in creating their characters, due to the presence of house rules that will be explained in Session Zero and/or the attached Discord. Materials and rule references will also be provided. Play will begin at level 1.

What Jared Cassady brings to the table
I don't tend to use atmospheric tools like music or maps, but my voice can weave a scene. I tend to embrace Rule of Cool within reason, but believe that the rules and structure are also important. You will not start off as superheroes, but if you are clever and willing to think outside of the box, you can topple foes way above your weight class.
Homebrew rules
Ascending AC. No strict limits on class and race combinations, and new classes and races are available. New spells are also available. Death & Dismemberment rules will be modified, and Side initiative used to allow players to always remain in play. IF THE PARTY CHOOSES, Random Advancement variations of the classes can be selected.

How Jared Cassady creates a safe table
Session Zero will devote some time to establishing players' personal Lines and Veils, which will be made pinned available for everyone to see if requested. X's and such can be spoken verbally if a player is comfortable doing so, or can be messaged privately to avoid spotlighting themselves.
