About the adventure

*New player friendly* My library of oneshots is set up like an escape room where you and a couple friends can choose an adventure from a list of prepared oneshots and immediately set up a day and time that conforms to your schedule. Each one-shot has a summary and prologue so once you choose your favorite one-shot you can make a character for it and we can get a game on the road! For New players who don't want to spend forever learning the details for DND for just a one shot I'll have a simplified character sheet and a mini rules reference page you can have on hand for the game. I am of course happy to help you learn as we play as well. Each game has a level of prep you as players will need to do ahead of time to get the most out of it: one star *= no prep beyond a character sheet. One shot options can be found here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1mTNChSji4QEVHwAavnyvTCLDtKO3jY9dqw9_467RREk/edit?usp=sharing (*Zero A.I. Used!*) Game List: Comedic - A PUNishing Fey-House - Soup-can-Sam's Apprentices - Your not you when... Discover - Treasure Sky-Island - Fey Outbreak - Afterlife Clerical Error Heroic - The Last Stand - Dragon Riders - Hell-risers Horror - The Crypt - The Snatcher - The Village Mystery - Escape room - Murder! - Werewolf Social - Masquerade of Fog - Lawful Violence - Happily Ever After Inn Steampunk - Journey to the Center of the Underdark - The Great Locomotive Race - Inventors Graduation Unique - My Gol-Dang Beach Episode!! - Springs Fancy - The Haven

Character creation

Creating your character

When making a character- Stats: standard Point buy rules - https://chicken-dinner.com/5e/5e-point-buy.html Health: after the first level, roll for health (I trust you, but if you just put in max health that will make your character the default tank lol) Equipment: standard equipment and average gold for your character- you can use that gold to buy any mundane items. No custom races- just source material from published book bound sources. Backgrounds- depending on the one-shot, you may only need a couple sentences or a couple paragraphs.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I run games on discord with players using whatever method they prefer for character sheet records (paper/pen, app, ect). For maps I use a software called Talespire that uses 3D immersive maps I'll be streaming on discord for anyone who doesn't want to get the free player version of Talespire on Steam. 1. Choose a one shot from the one shot list with a couple friends. (minimum 3 players, Max 7) 2. Make a character that matches that one shots summary and prologue using whatever method you prefer and send me a picture of your character sheet. 3. Make sure you have a discord and link up with my one shot channel. 4. If you wish to have more control of your view of the maps when we play, download the free player version of Talespire from steam (or buy it if you like the system) and I'll get you liked up to my one shot maps for the game! 5. Depending on the one shot, it may require more prep and I can help you through it. And be ready to play!!

What Scott brings to the table

What can you expect from my games? Intricut stories NPC voices Riveting 3D maps using a free (for you) tabletop system called Talespire I stick closer to the rules as intended - a middle ground between Rule of cool and Rules as written. Homebrew monsters and abilities to keep the game fresh even for veterans. Combat can be tactical, using height and lair abilities frequently. Ambiance and mood music. One off one shots that can be extended to mini campaigns if the group clicks.

Homebrew rules

1. Have fun 2. Do not stop others from having fun (the second the game stops being fun for you, it stops being fun for me so please message me if there are any issues that you personally dislike) 3. When drinking health potions- Bonus action to drink it yourself, action to make another person drink it. 4. When rolling death saves- only you and I know what was rolled. Much more suspense for other players because crit fails exist. 5. If you use the 2024 rules, you can't use the 2014 rules (taking a class from one and the subclass of the other) once you choose a version, stick to it. 6. Only use character options from published books (no unearthed arcana) 7. If there are any overpowered combos that break combat to the point it ruins the fun for the other players, I let it happen once as a "pushed your limits" situation and we will modify your character afterwards. (this mainly applies to campaigns and when I say break combat, I mean peasant cannon level of breaking)

Safety

How Scott creates a safe table

Most issues can be avoided by choosing the right one shot, please do not choose a horror game if you hate scary descriptions. Please reach out to me if you have any phobias, triggers, or hates and I'll be sure to omit them if they were to show up for the game. As far as pronouns go- I use your characters pronouns and names so it keeps the immersion while we play. If you need to talk to me directly as a person - say my name "Scott" instead of "DM" I'll take a step back and address the issue person to person instead of DM to player.
