About the adventure

Out beyond the familiar charts of Wildspace lies a place where the rules falter and empires overreach. This game follows a small, unlikely crew flung together aboard a living spelljammer: part ship, part creature, entirely misunderstood. You are not heroes of legend (at least not yet), but refugees, exiles, and accidents of fate, swept into the wider cosmos when escape was the only option left. The tone is classic space opera: strange new worlds, stranger allies, and moral choices that matter more than firepower. Civilization presents itself as orderly and benevolent, but beneath the polished hulls and official decrees lie exploitation, cruelty, and fear of the unknown. You’ll encounter authoritarian regimes, alien cultures with their own rigid logics, and moments where compassion is the most radical act available. Play centers on character-driven storytelling, problem-solving under pressure, and the slow forging of trust among people who may have nothing in common except survival. Expect exploration, negotiation, desperate gambits, and the occasional running firefight through corridors not designed for humanoids. Victory is rarely clean and sometimes just getting away counts as success. This game is for players who enjoy found family, ethical dilemmas, and science-fantasy with heart. If you like ensemble casts, philosophical tension, and adventures where the universe feels vast, dangerous, and oddly hopeful, then welcome aboard. The stars are waiting and they do not promise safety.

About me

🎶 Hello adventurers! Stay a while and listen as we embark on a fantastic journey! 🎶 You can call me Mashby. I've been playing Dungeons & Dragons since 2e when I was a teenager. My favorite system was definitely 3.5e and my longest running game has been in 5e. Previously I've worked as an animator and production designer, and now I am an experience designer specializing in gamified learning. New players and folx with marginalized identities will find a safe space at my table, for it is my firm belief that all people deserve to create and have their stories heard. Collaborative storytelling is the portal through which we can explore the deepest dungeons and the furthest stars together.

Character creation

Creating your character

We’ll be creating characters either before the game begins or together in session 0. This gives us time to tie your character into the world and ensure everyone feels comfortable with each other’s playstyle and backstory connections. Characters will start at Level 3, using standard ability score generation (either point buy or standard array, your choice). This game focuses on storytelling over stats, so feel free to pick what feels right for your character.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Safety

How GM Mashby creates a safe table

Creating a safe, welcoming space for everyone at the table is a top priority. To support open communication and emotional safety, we’ll be using a three-tiered safety system before and during gameplay: 1. RPG Consent Checklist Before we begin, all players will be asked to complete a private RPG Consent Checklist. This helps everyone understand what topics are welcome, what should be avoided, and where individual boundaries lie. This includes both hard limits and “soft” topics that require sensitive handling. 2. Lines & Veils We’ll also use a Lines and Veils document, which we’ll review together during Session 0. Lines are content that will not appear in the game at all. Veils are topics that may exist in the world but will be handled off-screen or with narrative distance. This ensures everyone is on the same page about tone, boundaries, and expectations. 3. X-Card System During play, we’ll use a digital or verbal version of the X-Card. If anything makes a player uncomfortable, they can say "X," type it in chat, or send me a private message, and the scene will immediately pause or shift—no questions asked.
