About the adventure
A heroic-level campaign of crime, mystery, improbable schemes, and wild action on the edge of the Empire! Form a band of smugglers, mercenaries, outlaws, and wanderers to survive the underworld of the dead-end planet Mon Gazza. Nobody really means to end up on Mon Gazza, under the haze of the spice mines or the rusted crags of urban decay. But here you are, scraping by, at least until you can get enough credits to get yourself off this forsaken rock. Work's not easy to come by, though. The Empire has cracked down on the spice mines, multiple gangs struggle for control of Mon Gazza's underworld, and, worst of all, the podracing circuit isn't what it used to be. You'll need a little skill and a lot of luck to get out of here in one piece. Fortunately, you're not alone... ______ Beginners welcome! LGBTQ+ friendly. This campaign is for relatively good-aligned outlaws in the Star Wars galaxy, doing crimes against the most wretched scum and villainy the planet has to offer, up to and including the Galactic Empire. CONTENT WARNING: As this campaign takes place in and around the criminal underworld of the Star Wars universe, it will include mention of some criminal activities like murder, drug trafficking, and slave trading. Player characters will not be encouraged to engage in these activities; they are the kinds of things villains do. These topics will be kept PG-13.

About me
I'm a long-time roleplayer and GM. I love running games and taking players through exciting story-driven adventures with cool moments and fun action while weaving in impactful moments for their characters. I'm a game designer by day and have worked on properties like Star Wars, Marvel, and Lord of the Rings, but I also love building new worlds to explore. I have written for RPG books for games like Star Wars, Genesys, Arkham Horror: The Roleplaying Game, the Power Rangers Roleplaying Game, and the Transformers Roleplaying Game. I play a lot of different RPGs and I'm always looking to try more. I'd love to share some adventures with you!

Creating your character
We will handle character creation together during Session 0, following the rules below: Characters should be created using Edge of the Empire's character creation rules. Each character begins with 10 Obligation, which can be increased for extra XP and/or credits as usual. -Character Concept- All characters should be the type who, for one reason or another, are willing to get their hands a little dirty for credits. However, they should be generally heroic rather than cruel or sadistic criminals. Force-sensitive characters are allowed, but this campaign will not involve lightsabers, Jedi artifacts, and so on. -Obligation- Characters start with 10 Obligation. You can choose any Obligation or create your own. Obligation may be increased for extra XP and/or credits as usual. -Species- Any official species is allowed. Homebrew species require GM approval. -Career- Any Edge of the Empire, Age of Rebellion, or Force & Destiny career is allowed. The Jedi and Clone Soldier careers are NOT allowed. -Specialization- Any Edge, Age, or F&D spec is allowed. Universal specs are also allowed, but check with me before taking the following: Nightsister, Padawan Survivor, Retired Clone Trooper. -Spending XP- You may spend your starting XP as usual. -Spending Starting Credits- You start with 2500 credits. Any official item up to Rarity 7 (unrestricted) can be purchased for list price. Restricted items require GM approval. Extra credits gained by increasing Obligation are as usual. -Motivation- You can choose any official Motivation(s) or create your own. -Additional XP- You've been around a bit. You gain 150 earned XP after character creation to spend as you wish. (Remember, this XP cannot be spent to increase Characteristics.)
The party is a group of outlaws currently stranded on the decaying urban industrial world of Mon Gazza. We have an escaped mining droid-slash-brawler, a Mandalorian foundling, a former Republic soldier, and a weird little guy. The group is not on good terms with the Empire or the Pyke Syndicate.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Make sure to have a decent microphone—a headset mic works great. Create a Discord account if you don't already have one. I am happy to teach rules as necessary, so you do not need to read them yourself unless you just want to.
What Brandon brings to the table
We'll use a Discord server for communication, where we'll have access to a dice bot to handle rolling and other things. We'll use RPGSessions for character sheets and rolling. I am a long-time GM, game designer, and Star Wars fan with tons of campaigns under my belt. Player fun comes first, and Rule of Cool often trumps Rules as Written. I like to offer exciting, dynamic adventures with challenging combats and interesting dilemmas, and adapt toward what engages a group most. I've written official content for this game, published by Fantasy Flight Games, as well as games like the Arkham Horror RPG, the Transformers RPG, and Legend in the Mist. I was also part of the Star Wars actual play Heroes of the Hydian Way during its second and third seasons.

How Brandon creates a safe table
We will do a Session 0 to create characters and discuss vibes for the game. I'll also send out a Lines & Veils document prior to Session 0 and maintain a list of topics that should be treated carefully or avoided entirely.
