About the adventure
As researchers for the Magnus Institute, you will explore Statements, and discover the horrifying truth of fear. Fight against the Great Fears, or become their Avatar, as you learn more about them and unlock more disturbing powers. Set in an alternate universe, with an original cast of characters. This is a HORROR game, and will contain many intense themes and descriptions, so I urge you to read through the Content Warnings before signing up. Whether you are a long time Magnus Archives listener, or just curious about the world, this campaign has a place for you. Cypher System can be a little complex at first, but I've been running it for a while, and have some helpful cheat sheets, so there's nothing to worry about.

About me
Hello lovely people, my name is Rowan (none/they); professional writer, educator, and GM with over a dozen years of experience across a variety of systems and genres. Fantasy, horror, and superheroes are my bread and butter, but I've been know to dip my toes in the scifi and steam/eco/cyber/diesel punk pools here and there. Creating your character
Characters will be created together during session 0, though you are encouraged to discuss character concepts with myself and the other players beforehand. You will all be employees of the Magnus Institute, with varying levels of exposure and belief in the true horrors that are out there.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You should prepare by going over the materials provided and considering a character concept. I will also have a player survey for you to fill out before session 0. Please introduce yourself in the discord, so we can get a sense of who everyone is and begin establishing a rapport before our first session begins.
What Rowan brings to the table
As a GM, I excel at creating worlds that are not only exciting, but feel lived in. My NPCs have been complimented more times than I can count; and I always make sure that the PCs and their personal stories are an integral part of the plot. I will bring many years of experience, a deep knowledge of the genre, and a penchant for evocative descriptions. In addition, I have a private discord for organizing, and any relevant materials in PDF format.

How Rowan creates a safe table
We will fill out lines and veils privately, though I may DM you if I need clarification, and I will share a master document with the group. I will go over other safety tools during session 0, and I expect every player to respect them. Not doing so will result in removal from the campaign. Once again, this is a HORROR campaign, and will feature very intense descriptions and themes, and I encourage everyone to read over the content warnings to see if this is the right game for them.
