About me
"What do you do?" is one of the most magical phrases in all of gaming. I've been playing and running tabletop games since the D&D cartoon aired. D&D in particular, even as a flawed system in its many iterations, has been a decades long golden thread connecting great things in my life. One of my first jobs was at a game store and I remember selling a Concerned Mom on the magic of D&D based on its promise of social engagement, math, and creativity all in a bundle. I stand by that decades later. Systems I've loved: - Bunnies & Burrows - Palladium's TMNT - Shadowrun - D&D 2e, 4e, 5e D&D in every incarnation has held a special place in my heart. Let's play!

Creating your character
Characters start at 4th level and we'll make them before we start play. I like to do this 1:1 as people join, but please feel free to make a character on your own before then. Use any official 2024 sources to create your PCs, if you have a question about a particular class or feature, let me know. Standard array for stats. If any of these concepts are mysterious, I can help!
This is a group of players continuing on from Lost Mine of Phandelver on to Tomb of Annihilation. They are currently in a prologue to ToA. It's a great time to join! Homebrew rules
Drink a potion as a full action and get the full benefit (mostly applies to healing potions), drink it as a bonus action and roll it. Get Heroic Inspiration for in- or out-of-character puns. You can assign this to other players if you already have Inspiration.

How heysparky (Karen) creates a safe table
SAFETY: Hybrid Lines & Veils / Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist: Before Session 0, I'll collect completed checklists so that I can modify the campaign in anyway needed to make sure my table is fun and safe for everyone. Session 0: We'll start off by getting to know each other, setting expectations, code of conduct type stuff, and of course, making characters. Breaks: Say 'Pause' if you need a moment - please feel free to contact me individually or simply step away, we'll break for 3-5 minutes (if everyone is back after 3 minutes, we'll resume); if you need longer, please let me know. Stars & Wishes: After each session, we'll spend a few minutes discussing the adventure to make sure we do more of what we're enjoying and less of what we're not.
