About the adventure
Alice is Missing is unlike any RPG you've played before. For 90 minutes of real time, you and your fellow players will search for Alice Briarwood, a high school student who vanished from the small town of Silent Falls. You'll play her friends, family, and others connected to her disappearance. And you'll do it entirely through text messages—no talking allowed. Using Discord, you'll send messages back and forth in a group chat, following prompts to drive the story forward. You'll uncover clues, share memories, make accusations, and gradually piece together what happened to Alice. The silence creates an atmosphere of tension and intimacy that's hard to describe—you'll find yourself genuinely invested in ways that surprise you. This is a game about small-town secrets, teenage relationships, and the things we don't say out loud. It's emotional, sometimes heavy, and deeply collaborative. Every playthrough tells a completely different story based on the cards drawn and the choices players make. You might discover a tragic accident, uncover a dark conspiracy, or find something stranger still. Perfect for players who want to try something experimental and emotionally engaging. The silent format makes it accessible for people who feel anxious about speaking in character or thinking on their feet—you'll have time to craft your responses. Content warning: this game deals with themes of missing persons, loss, and can include elements of violence, mental health struggles, and family trauma. We'll discuss boundaries before we begin.

About me
Greetings, traveler! If you’re on the hunt for a GM who puts story and character front and center, and who prioritizes fun at the table for novices and veterans alike, then hey! Pull up a chair. We might just click. I’ve been GMing for over a quarter of my life—7 years, to be exact. Dungeons & Dragons 5e is my bread and butter, but I’ve got a soft spot for narrative gems like Alice is Missing, The Witch is Dead, and Ten Candles. I usually run games on Roll20 with Discord as a home base for sessions, chatter, and community. While I’m most experienced with sprawling, multi-year campaigns, I adore punchy one-shots and mini-campaigns just as much. My philosophy is simple: build the game around the players. Every table gets a Session 0 so we can carve out the tone, set boundaries and goals, and figure out your big character dreams. Your characters are the protagonists, and I take a lot of joy in crafting personal story arcs for them to weave into the heart of the adventure. My tables are open to players of all identities and backgrounds. Everyone deserves dignity, safety, and a damn good time. Let’s tell some stories together soon!

Creating your character
Character creation happens at the beginning of session, where we determine who our characters are, what their relationship to Alice was, and how they relate to the other characters at the table. This is done through drawing cards and brainstorming with one another. During this phase, we will also flesh out the world of Silent Falls together, including key locations and suspects.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The game will be hosted on Discord and Roll20. All links will be provided.
What Dana brings to the table
This game is mostly GM-less. I'll facilitate the experience and set up the digital platforms we'll be using, guide you through the character creation and world building process, and guide the pacing throughout the story by introducing prompts at the right moments. We'll be using the official Alice is Missing timer and music, as well.

How Dana creates a safe table
I'll be sending a Lines and Veils document for you to fill out prior to game start, which we'll discuss before the session actually begins. Be aware that we'll be covering mature themes such as loss, missing people, queerness, and stalking among others.
