About the adventure
The world of Liryc is a high-fantasy setting, with a variety of creatures and places. The heros will begin in a small town, eager to show their merit within the ranks of the Adventurers Guild. At the surface, everything seems on the up-and-up. Merriment and stories awonder spun between tales of bards lips over late night drinks at the pub. The world is in it's golden age, with peace and prosperity abound for almost all who would seek it. But these things never last. As the players explore the world and the politics within it, they will be subjected to various challenges - and not all with sword and fist. They will have to deal with moral conundrums, the lesser of two evils, the greater of three goods - as well as puzzles, traps, monsters and mayhem. Be prepared for anything, as we take on each situation in kind and develop the storyworld together. The destiny may already be decided, but your fate is your own. As an extended campaign, we have the potential to reach level 20 - and even possibly beyond! Depending on how deeply we get invested, we could stretch it out and do all the sidequests! Or keep it linear and to the plot directly. Or in-between choosing which and when to keep and what to let go of. The decisions yet to be decided are simply pages yet unturned. So lets get turning!

About me
A Game Master, Dungeon Master, or otherwise Entertainer brings to the table a variety of things. Some bring modules, dice, and digital maps with dynamic lighting and animated effects. Some use strictly Theatre of the Mind. Some stream their content. And some don't. Some others stand out, creating homebrew worlds like a moonshine sommelier trying Honey and Nuts for the first time. Whether they stand out because their content is incredible or bizarre is to the eye of the beholder - And if thats what you want to encounter, that can be arranged. But if you prefer to have something that is Unique, not available to the public, and a bit more "simple" in the Graphics department - Lets talk. I'll even set you up with some inspiration, advantage, or dubs on our interactions. Specializing in the 40% Human gaming system, I have ample experience with 5e 2014, and pathfinder 1st edition. For a dedicated group, I would be willing to learn a new system. My personal experience over the decades will provide you with an ample plethora of imaginative content to choose from or direct. Available most morning, afternoons and evenings, Feel free to reach out. Mention reading this far, and I'll consider giving a discounted rate

Creating your character
Characters will be starting with a standard array or point buy or random roll - we will decide that together over discord before session 1. Starting level will probably be level 1, depending on how deep we are into the campaign (it may be higher).
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Having a good handle on 5e2014 gameplay, an decent enough understanding of roll20 and discord, and the ability to work the beyond20 extension. A computer/laptop and internet connection. Pretty standard stuff.
What Ferden brings to the table
You bring the party, I'll bring the ambience. Rule of cool > Rule of Fun > Rule of Law The story is built together. I bring the setting and layout, you bring the decisions and conflict resolution. It's a group effort to make something worth remembering, and Im going to do my best to give a great setup for that moment to shine. Players turns are their turns! When someone else is speaking, let us let them have the spotlight. If there is a need to interrupt, typing into the discord channel or roll20 chat will be utilized. No PvP -- I have never had a campaign get Better as a result of players having a serious conflict with each other. Unless the campaign specifically calls for it, or you are pulling a "Genie saves Aladdin" moment, we keep our characters to ourselves. No real-world politics, religion, or unnecessary controversy. When we play, we focus on the game. There are moments to share little stories that are related, though! These moments of brevity can be a welcome moment as well, as long as they dont Drag On (Ba dum tss). I'll do the voices where I can, cinematic moments to enjoy, and keep the pace moving forward and focus on fun. We're gonna have a good time. That said, my door is always open to conversations about the game or concerns/comments/criticism. Feel free to use the discord channel (I will create a private channel just for your group) or even send a direct DM (I respond failry quickly to discord).
Homebrew rules
Oh jeez, the rules are a great guideline but a terrible place to start enacting changes and putting those changes on paper. These are things to be discussed ahead of time. For simplicity sake: - Using a potion, doing a skill check, or taking a moment to "Roll Play" a scenario; bonus action - attacking something, dashing or dodging are actions - moving is not an action, but is treated as one with its own conditions. I might say (you lose your move action this turn) when I mean (your move speed is 0 this turn). Please forgive any wording errors I use - I do run multiple different systems and sometimes the words blend together. Outside of that, the main rule is "Focus on having a good time"

How Ferden creates a safe table
Open door policy and pre-play discussions about comfort and safety and settings. I try to be approachable and work with each group to tailor their needs specifically. That said, each campaign is different and would have different parameters. Death is almost always an option, as is visceral or brutal descriptors for combat. (I don't do things to harm kids in any way) (I wont do things to intentionally make someone uncomfortable, or let things develop to a point past that)
