A Game Master, Dungeon Master, or otherwise Entertainer brings to the table a variety of things. Some bring modules, dice, and digital maps with dynamic lighting and animated effects. Some use strictly Theatre of the Mind. Some stream their content. And some don't. Some others stand out, creating homebrew worlds like a moonshine sommelier trying Honey and Nuts for the first time. Wether they stand out because their content is incredible or bizarre is to the eye of the beholder - And if thats what you want to encounter, that can be arranged. 30% content 40% Improvisation 30% response I play a bit loose, with focus towards progression and individual engagement. There are many opportunities for the party to engage with each other on their own will, but I like to engage the players directly. This allows everyone to share the spotlight, and keeps progression flowing in a manner most enjoy. I also pay attention to what my players discuss and engage with, and respond accordingly. If you are given a prompt to hunt a dragon and instead want to legalize gay marriage, lets do it. I do have limits, and never intend to make a person uncomfortable with any more than a "spine chill" or "goosebumps".
