About the adventure

This adventure for 4 to 6 players that will take you from level 3 to 12! Icewind Dale's last embers burn low as a sun not seen for two years remains hidden. A scholar from the south pleads that a forgotten ritual could restore the north before the citizens of Ten Towns die clinging to their hearths. If you can brave blizzards, navigate Ten Towns' tangled politics, and confront ancient threats perhaps warmth can return once again. This story is full of player agency as the party wanders the width and breadth of Icewind Dale. From local politics to heavenly matters, you will decide the fate of all who live in the dale. There are no kings, no generals, and no other heroes; only you can save Ten Towns!

About me

My journey with tabletop games started over twenty years ago, sparking a passion in the hobby that has only grown brighter over the years. I started gaming when I was ten years old with my father and I have continued that love into adulthood. I later started GMing in high school and have learned many hard lessons about how to run a game while managing a table of spirited players.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creations will be level 3, point buy and standard array, and will occur on DnD Beyond with 2024 rules. That character will then be imported into Foundry VTT for playing.

The current party

There is a barbarian, druid, ranger, and wizard currently in the party. Even split of ranged and melee.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should have a Discord account, DnD Beyond account for character creation, and a computer. I use FoundryVTT and unfortunately it does not work properly on Phones or Tablets.

What DisposableMinion brings to the table

Expect voices, ambient music, and a solid amount of sarcasm. Combat can be intense and tactical, as can the roleplaying. I tend to stick to Rules as Written for brevity but am down for Rule for Cool. Also I will provide the materials on DnD Beyond so a character can be created.

Safety

How DisposableMinion creates a safe table

My plan to keep players safe is to have everyone fill out the Monty Cook RPG consent checklist. Then at Session 0 we will go over the content warning and discuss how things can be changed both based on the checklist and immediate input. Hopefully the major issues can be adjusted before session 1 even happens. During actual sessions there is an X-Card button which slaps a big red X on the screen with an alarm so we can all take a break. They are also free to step away whenever they need to. After each session a debriefing happens as well as Stars and Wishes. This is a great time for feedback and the sharing of concerns.
