About the adventure

Build your legacy in a Colonial inspired high-fantasy sandbox that will take the players directly into the fledgling societies and untamed lands of a recently discovered world. Board a trade vessel destined to test the treacherous waters ahead. Only to quickly realize the new life you had been promised is not as glorious as promised. When you crash land into the unnamed territories, it will be up to you on how you will engage with the sinisterly designed society of new. Assist the people of the new world, the same people who were fed the same false bill that you had. Meet native peoples who livelihoods are threatened by the various factions vying for control of land and resources. Defeat the greed and treachery of those who only seek power over the new world. Life in the unnamed lands is not easy but eventually, it can be whatever YOU want it to be. Hex crawl across uncharted territories while experiencing a player focused blend of engaging combat, thought provoking exploration, and inclusive roleplay. Sometimes serious, mostly goofy NPC's help drive the stories of the players, showcasing the emerging cultures and factions within the world. Experience the harrowing challenges and conflicts of a land being colonized. Players will face a harsh reality but a place that is still malleable. Everyone at the table will get a chance to be the main character in the story of their new life in this new world. Decide what your impact will be to the lands yet to be named.

About me

Hello, Experienced GM here, obsessed with collaborative storytelling. My heart truly belongs to tabletop gaming. What started as a copy of Blood Bowl that I didn't actually know the rules for later turned into being "Forever DM" to long form D&D 5e campaigns, OSR campaigns, and too many whacky one-shot adventures. Over the last 12 years of being a GM, I've relished the moments I've been able to convince my friends and family to set aside some time and delve into the absurdity of our imaginations.

Character creation

Creating your character

There will be an optional and free Session #0 that will allow the players to create their PC's collaboratively, get a feel for what kind of adventure the rest of the party is hoping for, and get some background information on the setting of the campaign. Players will make level 1 characters and the only backstory that will be required is asking one question "Why did your character leave their life behind to start anew in the Unnamed Lands?"

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Upon joining the game, I will provide a link to the discord! Games will be hosted on Roll20

What Jim brings to the table

Combat, Exploration, and Roleplay! Sometimes serious, mostly goofy social encounters. Conflict with player-character driven stories that raise the stakes of the action. Keeping honor to the rules but bending them at times to allow player agency, creativity, and enhance the narrative.

Homebrew rules

Critical Hits do MAX damage. The more elaborate and creative the plan is, the more likely I will want it to work.

Safety

How Jim creates a safe table

I will try to be as inclusive as possible and to allow every player to feel like the main character. Please do not withhold any feedback when something in the game makes you feel uncomfortable. I will be reminding of the content warnings during session #0 and asking players to fill out and return to me a copy of a monte clark rpg consent form. I will keep player answers anonymous and any content that makes a player to lose enjoyment of the game will be removed.
