About the adventure
Come to Hogwarts in Africa! (Please note this is not to co-opt any African traditions, cultures, or systems of magic. But if it offends JK Rowling that's fine.) The Mwangi Expanse is an Africa-inspired setting in the official Pathfinder world - play as first year students learning about Mwangi's premier magic school and the world around it. Explore the city, take classes, make friends. Or don't! Either way, your PC will grow in power and come to face the threats descending upon the Mwangi Expanse, and all of Golarion. Strength of Thousands is a prefab module that runs from Levels 1-20. However, I reserve the right to change 'official' details to best cater to your adventuring party, and can do smaller sections for shorter campaigns. Character backstory is optional, but a PC from Nantambu or the wider Mwangi Expanse will find more opportunities to connect to the locale as the story unfolds. It's your story, and I will do my best to adjust the AP to reflect the decisions you make in the world. https://paizo.com/store/pathfinder/adventures/adventurePath/strengthOfThousands Pathfinder 2e is a 'crunchy' system, which means the story-telling requires some willingness to do math. Foundry VTT automation helps, but it is a player's responsibility to learn their character sheet and what their PC can/not do. But previous experience is not required! If you're new to d20 systems, just come with the willingness to make mistakes and I'll make sure you get up to speed to have a good time. All of the rules for PF2e can be found online: https://2e.aonprd.com/ as well as a robust free character builder: https://pathbuilder2e.com/

About me
I started playing TTRPGs as a kid with my dad, who introduced me to D&D 2e (but don't ask me to explain THAC0). I have most experience playing D&D 3.5 and 5, Pathfinder 2e, and Kids on Bikes. I'm queer, and want to make sure everyone feels comfortable at the table. Sometimes NPCs might have biased or bigoted views, but they are often villains or their views will be frowned upon by others.

Creating your character
Session 0 will go over PC creation, allowing players to discuss personal preferences and party balancing. The adventure starts at Level 1, and starting equipment will be provided. Players will use a homebrew Academy system to simulate their studies at the Magaambya from 2nd level onward (further details in my Discord channel).
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Gameplay is done on Foundry VTT, which requires an internet connection (but no account). Live chat is done on Discord, which will require a mic. Otherwise players do not need to bring any rulebooks, sheets, or dice. However, all of the rules for Pathfinder 2e are available online for free!
What Jason brings to the table
We will play using Foundry VTT, but players do not need any experience (or account) to play. A second screen can be helpful to bring up Discord chat, but a phone can also be used. This allows you to play in a world full of unique NPCs, monsters, and locales! I can't promise a unique voice for every character, but will do my best to bring them alive for you. Combat is frequent, but PCs will also find plenty of opportunities to use social or knowledge skills as they meet other students, professors, and folks around town. I will provide rules where appropriate for skill checks, but am also happy to wave away rules for the sake of a good story.

How Jason creates a safe table
Session 0 will go over expectations for players and GM, modifying the Lines/Veils as appropriate so all players feel safe enough and are trusted to play together. I as GM am also available outside of play sessions to discuss any player concerns.
