About the adventure
Adventure, secrets, and riches await on the high seas. Perhaps you are a sailor, maybe you're a merchant, or just wanting a new life. The sea called to you, and you answered, joining the crew of a treasure seeking ship moving across the vast ocean. At least, for however long the ship may last... Remember, dangers abound. The sea has many beasts living beneath the waves, and people ranging from basic pirates, to cultists devoted to ancient beings at the bottom of the sea. May the waves carry you to safety, and bring you back to a safe harbor! Also, can't put this in the schedule, but this game takes a break every first Friday of the month.

About me
I have loved DND since I first started playing some years ago. I've been a player for a long time, and have DM'ed off and on. I love all the stories we can tell with DND, and the cooperative story telling DND offers is amazing to me. In spare time I cuddle with my adorable kitty, and play Baldur's Gate. My day job is the gloriously dull work of retail.

Creating your character
All characters will have starting stats of 17, 15, 13, 12, 10 and 8 that can go anywhere you wish. Racial stats can go anywhere you wish as well, and it will be DND 2014 rules. Acceptable races are tabaxi, dragonborn, kobold, goblin, elves (no drow), dwarves, halflings, half elves, gnomes, humans, half orcs, lizardfolk, tiefling, aasimar, and genasi. First session will begin with you being a crew member of a treasure ship, so have a reason why you'll be wanting to go on the seas.
Current party is a goblin rogue.

What Dylan brings to the table
I always do my best to give my players a fun time. I go with Rule of Cool more often than anything else. In combat I am perfectly fine with my players wanting to try out something new or something strange that might not be technically allowed, but could be real fun. I also try to always have music ready for the moments that come, be they serious, funny, relaxed, any of the above really.
Homebrew rules
Potions can be taken as a bonus action. Intimidation can be used with Strength or Charisma. Monks get extra Ki points equal to their Wisdom modifier. Sorcerers and wizards get Find Familiar both as a class feature.

How Dylan creates a safe table
I will have a session zero where we will go over all things that make people comfortable and uncomfortable. I will also institute Red and Green card system where anyone, at any time, can put up the X/Red card if anything is bothering them. If it happens, the scene will be stopped instantly, no questions asked. Anyone at any moment may also tell me after a session anything that might have bothered them, be it a small or large issue. And last, we will have lines and veils we will discuss ahead of time.
