About the adventure

In Warrenguard, you are one of the few chosen by dragons to be a noble rider. You and your dragon share a unique mental connection that you use to communicate. You've been assigned to protect a hold with a handful of other dragon riders. You did not choose this group, but you must learn to get along and work together in order to keep the citizen below safe. The core of gameplay rests in how found family is often forged through adversity. Balance comfort and peace with training, as you explore the token system that invites chaos into your lives through compelling human stories. When the hold is under threat, you will take to the skies on your dragon and fight as one, or die trying. This innovative system from Luck of the Harbor blends elements of Belonging Outside Belonging with Fate Accelerated. If those are new to you, don't worry! This is a fairly new system that I have been running through its development. Most players find themselves telling stories before they're even done with character creation.

About me

I'm a game designer, show producer, host, queer activist and an experienced GM. I've been running at conventions for over 15 years. I've run successful games in person, online, as part of streams and on stage. I am fiercely inclusive, running mostly games that focus on dynamic relationship mechanics, with queer themes. I've been called the Kevin Bacon of Monsterhearts. I once killed Matt Mercer. . .'s character in a game of For the Queen. My pronouns are she & he series, which is not an option in the drop down.

What Brian A Liberge brings to the table

Warrenguard is partially based on the engine of my own game Ace Adventure. I was the first GM (outside of the designer) and I fell in love with the system and the stories that get told at the table. Together we will tell a story of found family that will leave you wanting more. Warrenguard is episodic by design, so you will also get to experience a big dramatic fight scene as part of the 2nd half of the game.

Safety

How Brian A Liberge creates a safe table

I use the tools Fade to Black (for moving past a scene, but acknowledging it happened), I Would Rather (for making your desires clear in the moment) and Time Out (to signal it's time to stop and discuss). It is always an Open Table, if this is no longer a place you want to be you have no obligation to be here. No guilt, no shame I almost put Child Abandonment in the Content Warnings but its only partially true. In the world of Warrenguard, dragon riders train from an early age and never get assigned to the hold where they were born. We can edit this for our game if it is a sensitive topic.
