About the adventure
This is Curse of Strahd Reloaded, where your PC is from 21st-century Earth. The mists brought you to a strange and terrifying medieval fantasy world, but why? This will be a heroic fantasy adventure in a dark fantasy/gothic horror setting. Your character should have the potential to swiftly become a hero when faced with a life-or-death situation. Be prepared to cooperate and collaborate with the other players in order to succeed. You did not know the other PCs before getting drawn through the mists, but they were brought here from Earth at the same time as you.

Creating your character
There will be a free session zero to create characters. (If you're joining after the game has started, I'll reach out to you to help design a character.) All 5.14 sources are available (no 5.24, please). Your character comes from modern Earth. They may desperately want to get back or they may find what they've been spirited away from even worse than dealing with Strahd, but either way, they're here now, and also transformed in ways they may find terrifying. Depending on the character you design, once you come through the mists, you may find that you suddenly have pointy ears and can shoot fire from your hands, or you may find that you're suddenly a lot shorter and know how to use medieval weapons as if you trained with them all your life.

How Beroli creates a safe table
There will be a discussion of lines, veils, and triggers during Session Zero, with people being free to add more at any time (or to subtract some, if they decide something doesn't actually need to be a line or a veil). Several common triggers I will simply avoid whether any players bring them up or not because I find them unpleasant to dwell on. Violence is part of the game as it is of most RPGs, but I don't plan on being graphic about it.
