About the adventure

"Recruited as research assistants in anticipation of a rare celestial event, the PCs arrive on a remote island in the remnants of Azlant. While there, a column of shadow erupts from the sea and washes across the sky, dimming the sun and unleashing shadowy monsters. Investigating the dangerous anomaly, the PCs discover a ruined Azlanti prison inhabited by vampires and learn that the column of shadow was only a test run for an ancient vampire planning to use Azlanti magical technology to blot out the sky, shielding the dangers of the sun so they can escape their island prison and reunite with their lover from the times before Earthfall." For further general information about the adventure, I'd recommend reading into the free player's guide on Paizo's website. New players are welcome, as long as they feel they are capable of getting a quick grasp on the system's mechanics and are willing to read into things. Additionally, I do generally like involving player backstories, so if you give me something I can work into the campaign in these regards, I will potentially do something with it beyond just acknowledging that it exists. There will be a free session zero to talk through potential questions, set up safety tools, potentially connect backstory ideas, help with character creation where necessary, etc. Finally, I wanna mention that my tables are an inclusive and safe space for players of any race, gender or sexual orientation. Fostering a hostile atmosphere will get you kicked out.

About me

Heya, I'm Haru! I've been Playing and GMing TTRPGs since my youth, initially in person, then around covid transitioning to fully online as one of my two primary hobbies (besides gaming). I'm a quite engaged and dedicated person generally speaking that highly values honesty, reliability and punctuality. I love roleplay of all different kinds, building characters from both a mechanical and a backstory point and have been engaging in it for many hours per week for years. My main system has originally been PF1e, then since it's release transitioned to PF2e, though I've also dabbled into some other systems on occasion like e.g. WtA and Lancer. Professionally speaking, I'm a trained software developer and generally quite a tech nerd that likes to experiment and play around with all kinds of stuff. I do also have some experience as an afterschool tutor, primarily for maths, as I enjoy teaching things and seeing others make new experiences and show them how to approach problems from new angles that may be easier to understand for them. Personally, I'm a very open minded and inclusive person who sometimes tends to try a bit too hard to make everything to everyone's liking.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be using following variant rules: - Free Archetype - Ancestry Paragon I will be making the following third party content available: - Most of the Battlezoo Books (Which primarily opens up a lot more unusual ancestries) I recommend reading into the Player's Guide for this adventure for advice on which classes, ancestries, languages etc. are fitting or unfitting for this adventure. You can either prepare your character on your own, ask me for assistance with it in advance, or if you prefer we can do it together during session 0.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

VC will be running via discord, so you accordingly have to join my server there so we can use it for our communications. Foundry is accessed via your browser, so all you need for that is a PC.

What Haru brings to the table

We're gonna be using the official Module for this adventure, including anything in regards to sound effects, tokens, music, etc. that this entails. I like to try and create an immersiv experience wherever I can and will give as many roleplay opportunities for the party as desired. Depending on the group, this could mean a higher roleplay focus, or a higher combat focus, I can adapt in this regard. Additionally, I've got qutie a good lot of experience in the system and can rebalance and adjust encounters on the fly if things start getting too easy or too hard for whatever party may shape.

Safety

How Haru creates a safe table

All of you will be receiving a Lines and Veils document before session 0 for you to fill out and return to me. I will combine them into a general document for the campaign and share it back accordingly, once I received this from every player, so everyone know what are and aren't acceptable topics during our sessions. Additionally, whenever something goes into an uncomfortable direction for someone during the session, they can quickly poke me with an N or X card in DMs (At best also mentioning what specifically is the topic they'd like to avoid here) and I will steer the topic away from it without need for them to publicly reveal that they called for it, unless absolutely necessary/unless they want to bring it up.
