About the adventure
In this campaign you put on the mantle of an Imperial High Lord and rule a single war-torn world in the grim darkness of Warhammer 40,000. Using the Dune: Adventures in the Imperium system, you and the other players each lead a rival Great House, sworn to the Golden Throne yet locked in a constant struggle for power, survival, and the Emperor’s favor. You will design your House from the ground up: its history, sigil, creed, and the domains that feed its strength. Is your power rooted in industry, armies, holy zeal, covert intelligence networks, tempered alliances or forbidden secrets? Will your banners be carried by knightly lances, hive gangs turned household troops, or silent kill-teams that erase problems before they are spoken aloud? Your rule does not go unchallenged. You must bargain and clash with the Adeptus Mechanicus over archeotech discoveries, navigate the iron letter of the Lex Imperialis and its enforcers in the Adeptus Arbites, and live under the distant but deadly shadow of the Inquisition. Pirates, heretics, and inhuman raiders menace your trade lanes and borders. Cults and corruption take root in the underhives and the hearts of the ambitious. You may strive to purge them, quietly exploit them, or secretly embrace their promises. Faith is both a weapon and a chain. You may work hand-in-hand with the Ecclesiarchy, riding the fire of the faithful to cement your rule, or you may manipulate piety for your own ends while hiding your true beliefs. Stand as a pillar of Imperial orthodoxy, a grim pragmatist, or a veiled heretic gambling with damnation. Play is primarily by post. Between gatherings you issue decrees, cultivate alliances, raise forces, and create the specialists and agents who serve as your hands: spies, captains, confessors, diplomats, assassins. Some of these NPCs will form whole teams that other players may use or even portray. At key moments all Houses convene in live sessions: grand councils where banners hang side by side and you debate crises, levy tithes, and answer fresh reports from your informants. At other times you shift into focused missions, playing out squads or massed forces on the ground or in the void. Covert operations may remain secret from the other Lords (Players); open campaigns and joint expeditions pull everyone to the table. This is a political action drama about power, faith, and compromise. As Lord or Lady of a High House you will decide what you are willing to sacrifice to defend your world in the Emperor’s name – and what you are willing to become to keep it. Or take it all!

I am a Published Comic Book Author (Song of Stone and The Red Hunt), Youtube Voice Actor, and veteran Game Master who has played through several different systems throughout my life. I love helping players in my games have impactful, fun adventures with an Emphasis on Role Playing over Rules Lawyering. I run 3-4 hours games, each game taking place once a week. My games are friendly affairs, but in the course of adventuring you may encounter many sordid situations, ranging from physical violence, genocide, and murder, to characters who have experienced various kinds of Trauma, sexual assault, and great loss. Creating your character
You and I will work together to make your character and to build your house. We will be using the Dune Adventures in the Imperium system, but adapted for Warhammer 40k. If you want to get a leg up on the other players, you can look into that on your own, but it is not required. I will go through everything, piece by piece, and help in the construction of both your great house, its assets, Personnel, and your Highlord.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a Mic, and a Discord account. You will also need to install the Free Version of Fantasy Ground Unity. Some knowledge of Warhammer 40K is recommended by not required. Bring something to drink, some snacks, and a nice active brain. You may need all three!
What A Fan With Too Much Time brings to the table
I will bring my Fantasy Ground Unity Ultimate License, which will enable anyone to play with me for free, using all my books and material, on the Fantasy Ground Unity platform. I will also have a specialized Discord Server ready for my players. Through these platforms, I will be able to share maps, illustrations and visuals, as well as speak with you and facilitate the game. I have a hefty library of Source Books and Tertiary Content for you to enjoy once you join the game. Hello and welcome, I'm a Fan With Too Much Time (Fan for short), Welcome to this Original Game Module, set within the Warhammer 40K Universe! You are entering a realm where you can change and shape a Civilization, unravel the mysteries which surround you, and explore the vast unknown which abounds in all directions. We will discuss lore questions, gameplay questions and concerns, as well as behavioral expectations and more within Session 0, but I will cover some basics with you here. In "Lords of the Imperium," players can anticipate a mix of combat, Politics, Planning and Civ Building, as well as, mysteries, puzzles, and a bit of horror in places. Each of these aspects offer a unique challenge and can provide opportunities for advancement and the dominance of the World. Roleplaying is a cornerstone of the game, providing depth and immersion into the world of Warhammer 40K. As a High Lord, you will often find yourself at the forefront of freeform roleplaying interactions, making critical decisions and navigating the complex social and political landscapes of the Imperium's Worlds. The pressure might get cracked up, and this is no easy going setting. If you ever need to take a break or a moment to collect yourself, just ask. If there are aspects of the game of themes which are becoming upsetting, do not hesitate to say so.
