About the adventure
Something has shifted. Something is missing. Something important. But no matter how hard you try to remember you can't. The Journey is a tarot-inspired Call of Cthulhu campaign. The journey begins with players being represented by the Fool in the major arcana. Players will traverse the whole major arcana to uncover the secrets hidden not only in their own pasts, but the pasts of the other players. Will they like what they uncover? Will their fellow journeymen turn into friend or foe? There is only one way to find out. The Journey must begin. This campaign will deal with memory, amnesia, and character trauma. Safety tools will be used and explained throughly in Session 0.

About me
Howdy! I'm Wes (they/them), if you are looking for new home-brew obsessed GM, I'm your guy! I've been GM-ing for almost four years now. I started with DnD and then moved to Call of Cthulhu and Vampire the Masquerade. I frequently run one-shots with indie systems for my friends as a way to introduce them to the world of TTRPGs. I really enjoy home brewing and creating rich, complex worlds for my players to get lost in! My table is open to everyone! New players and veterans alike!

Creating your character
Players should have an idea and a short backstory of their character before the start. The backstory should include who the character is, what's missing from their memory, and why they want it back. The backstory should be a few paragraphs in length (2-3). EXAMPLE: Tory Jones grew up in Brooklyn to a single mom and the youngest of four. He now lives in Queens and works for a butcher shop. The only thing is, Tory can't remember how he got there. He's been working there for almost two years now and everything feels natural to him, but he doesn't remember how he got from playing on streets of Brooklyn to now working in Queens. Character creation can be done via Roll20 or using the core rulebook of Call of Cthulhu. Any questions about stats will be answered during Session 0!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All players should make sure they have a working internet connection, microphone, and a Discord account. If they want to have a digital character sheet, Roll20 is suggested since it does a lot of the math for you. A Discord server will be made for the campaign and players will be expected to join it.
What Wes brings to the table
As a former theatre kid, I love doing voices and lining up atmospheric music. I will also often send reference images so players feel fully immersed. I aim to have my games be a sensory and emotional experience with an emphasis on role-play and character story. Rule of Cool is always welcome and encouraged at my table. TTRPGs are a collaborative process, I am simply the conduit. I'm not a rules lawyer and believe that rules should be (and will be) bent in order to tell a compelling story.

Safety
How Wes creates a safe table
As mentioned above, players will be required to fill out a consent form listing out their yellow and red subject matters. This will only be seen by myself to ensure that table remains a safe place for everyone. Once the campaign starts, players will be using the X, N, and Os and can send it privately to me. I will never reveal who sent it or why. Breaks can also be requested at anytime for any reason (bathroom, water, too intense, etc). My messages are also always open if a player wishes to talk outside of the session.
