About the adventure

A former humanoid settlement, primarily Human & Dwarven, was used for mining but since the mine dried up years ago, the settlement of Silvertown is left to the wilderness. Now, factions have emerged, Ratfolk, Bugfolk, Spiderfolk, Catfolk, & Dogfolk. These factions are primed for war as control of the abandoned Silvertown would allow the winning faction to control precious, limited resources. Bugfolk & Spiderfolk are allied and Catfolk have a tenous ceasefire with Dogfolk, but the Ratfolk have been breeding the largest (per life) army they can to prepare for all-out war! Now, the Rat King is looking to knight some young Ratfolk adventurers to begin special operations to assist in the war effort. _______________________________________________________________________ Players will be Ratfolk, and will be the size of real rats, relative to the world around them. However, they will be considered "Small" by the system's definition. The maps will include the insides of walls, rafters, on tabletops, etc. The campaign is designed to be scaled down, so that your standard Cat, Dog, or Fox, would be Large, Huge, or Gargantuan, like a Dragon in a normal campaign.

About me

I am a longtime TTRPG GM that loves D&D & GURPS, with a large library of books, art assets, and time to share with my players, it is my favorite thing to do. I am a huge fan of roleplay and often modify mechanics to benefit storytelling & session fluidity. I use Foundry VTT, which is free to my players, and includes vast customization options for every campaign & every participant. Please take a look at this Google Sheet for all of my GURPS games: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OIi-Yp_5L2k4LvJ_L-YxgZ_YF7QIsZr4h0PIoit8fKM/edit?usp=sharing

Character creation

Creating your character

Players will be required to be the Ratfolk race, but will be free to select any official class. Players will meet in a Session 0, where they can present their idea(s) for their character(s). Once the party has decided on their class mix, they can workshop their individual characters before the official Session 1. They will start at Level 1, and will progress with EXP.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will just need Discord to communicate, as they will join the GM's official Discord server where the whole party will be. This is where all communication will take place, including Voice during the actual session. Players should have at least one character idea before the Session 0, so they can present an idea. It is optimal to have a few, so you can fit with everyone else as best as possible.

What John brings to the table

The GM has custom character art, ambient music, and a talent for storytelling. I have a solid mix of Area & Combat Maps mixed with Theater of the Mind. I embrace the Rule of Cool in order to increase player enjoyment as well as increase session fluidity and avoid rule debates. Players can expect a fantastic blend of Combat, Roleplaying, & Brain Teasers.

Safety

How John creates a safe table

During Session 0, players will have the opportunity to discuss what they do not want to see or hear. Breaks may be taken during the session for player & GM needs. Players will also be able to conduct Aftercare, as each session will end with a post-session discussion about the content and future sessions.
