Creating your character

In Session Zer0, we'll cover character creation together. You'll get details on approved books and homebrew rules via Discord after Onboarding. Homebrew races and subclasses may be used with GM approval. See other homebrew examples below.

Preparing for the session

Players will need a Discord Account. You can play everything on your PC or Smartphone! Sound is the most important; you might want to use a Microphone and Headphones. A camera is not necessary. But, if you do have a camera, you can use it to roll real dice instead of using our dice bot in Discord! Make sure all your devices are charged, and don’t forget to grab a drink and a snack! Beyond that, bring a positive mindset and a healthy sense of humor!

Homebrew rules

There are no restrictions on character creation (within reason), but all characters must be reviewed. Please refer to the Homebrew List on the Discord for more details. • When rolling stats, use 4D6 (Rerolling any 1s) and remove the lowest die, adding the results of the other three. Do this 6 times and send those 6 numbers to your GM for review. • For health, you can maximize it up to level 3. When leveling up after that, if your health is below half, reroll to increase it: for example, roll again if you get a 3 or lower on a D8, or a 2 or lower on a D6. • If you get the same skill from your background and your class, it can be an expertise skill (Double Proficiency). Or you can choose another extra proficiency instead. • Additionally, add your Intelligence modifier to bonus skill, language, or tool proficiencies.

I focus on customizing player experiences by dedicating time to help you develop your character's backstory and seamlessly integrate them into the world. A copy of our lines and veils will always be available on our Discord server. **Content Warnings:** This game is rated R due to extreme violence, strong language, and possible character death. I will share major events without including spoilers; players are welcome to discuss these events with me at any time. If anyone feels they are not a good fit for this game, I am happy to make any adjustments or help them find another game that will be just as fun to play!
