About the adventure
Players will take the role of ninjas who have left their home villages, for some reason or another, and now seek a new home and their own ninja way. However, founding your own hidden village is no easy task. Meet and befriend/fight some of the most famous ninjas of past and present. As the title indicates, the Naruto universe is the setting. The approximate time period will be the first episode of the first series. Just like any filler content for Naruto, the characters and jutsus that exist will make no canonical or chronological sense. Just roll with it and have some fun. This game is intended for players who have some experience with 5e D&D, but just the basics are fine. You will essentially have 2 character classes, simultaneously (Gestalt Rules). I don't have an estimated campaign length because I can run for as long as the group would like. My table is centered around everyone having fun, but that doesn't mean there can't be serious/dramatic moments. I'm not a "Rule of Cool" DM, but I'm also not nailed to the Rules as Written. I like to make things make sense. If that means bending a rule here or there, so be it.

Creating your character
Character Creation will be handled during session zero We will be using gestalt rules for building characters. If you are familiar with gestalt rules, you can skip to the next paragraph and not miss anything. Gestalt characters gain all of the benefits of two different classes every level. Thus, a level one gestalt character could be a barbarian and a sorcerer. They would have the proficiencies and class features of both classes, such as rage and spellcasting, and the better hit die of the two (i.e. the barbarian's d12). As they progress to level 2, they could choose to increase one of their original classes and add a new class, or add to both of their original classes, or to gain a level in two entirely new classes. Either way, their hit die for the new level is the better of the two classes chosen for level 2 and they gain all proficiencies and class features for both. One of your class choices will be limited. The other can be whatever you like. The one that is limited must be sorcerer, if making a ninja that can perform jutsus or monk, if making a ninja who cannot perform jutsus (ex. Rock Lee). Races will also be limited to the following: Human, Tabaxi (small variant), Triton, Changeling, Goliath, Simic Hybrid, and Warforged The party will start at level 6. All published sources are allowed, just keep the race and class restrictions in mind. Ability scores will be determined via point buy. Scores will have a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 18. Homebrew rules
Characters will have the ability to "Dig Deep" to regain their choice of Sorcery or Ki points. The amount of points regained is equal to the character's Spellcasting modifier in the case of sorcery points, or their Constitution modifier in the case of Ki points. Doing so requires a Constitution save with a DC of 10+ the number of times the character has used this ability since their last long rest. Failing the save causes the character to suffer one level of exhaustion.

How Khaz creates a safe table
In session zero, I send everyone a consent form to let me know what their preferences/needs are. Ground rules for conduct are laid down in session zero. They will be enforced throughout the campaign. Any issues you have with anyone (including myself) can be handled quickly via Discord's direct messaging system. After each session, I like to gather feedback from everyone and help bring the emotional level down through light-hearted conversation, but nobody is obligated to participate in that portion.
