About the adventure
The village of Osprey Cove has led a quiet, peaceful existence for decades. Though they rarely interact with their sibling village of Iron Harbor, things change forever the night a storm brings a dying messenger with an eerie warning. Something sinister is afoot, and it falls to a brand new band of adventurers to learn the truth of the ancient evil that stirs deep within its long-abandoned halls! Rusthenge is a standalone adventure written by Paizo Inc, it is a great adventure and an excellent jumping off point for the stories of new adventurers. Are you looking for the experience of an epic, long campaign, but afraid of committing to the wrong table? This is the perfect place to start. Running between 6 to 12 sessions, this adventure offers a complete story arc without the pressure of a years-long commitment. It is an ideal "playground" to test out a new group dynamic. If we click, this could be the start of a legendary campaign. If not, you walk away with a badge of honor and a memorable story.

About me
Hello! I’m a storyteller at heart. Before I was a GM, I was a writer, focused on cosmic horror and suspense. That passion for atmosphere and exploring the unnatural runs through every game I run. By day, I’m an educator, a role that’s made me an organized listener committed to building a positive, collaborative environment where everyone’s voice is heard. My GM philosophy is simple: we build the story together. Your characters are the protagonists. Their choices and goals drive the narrative. I don’t tell my story; I create a living world for you to challenge, change, and make your own. My favorite games share core elements: high stakes, meaningful choices, and a world that feels alive. I love building a palpable atmosphere—whether it's the creeping dread of a modern conspiracy, the tactical tension of a high-stakes combat, or the fast, deadly thrill of old-school exploration.

Creating your character
Our first session will start as a session 0. We will introduce ourselves to each other that night, set out our expectations, make characters, and if time allows, get a strong opener to our adventure!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need to be added to my Forge hosted FoundryVTT server as well as join my discord channel (it is exclusively used for hosting games, you will not need to worry about notification spamming down the road). You will not need to make characters ahead of time, we will address that in our session 0 where we will make our characters on Foundry that can tie in well to the narrative and have a strong reason to undertake the adventure.
What Charlie brings to the table
True Agency in a Dangerous World I specialize in running games where your choices genuinely matter. I am here to support unorthodox choices and paths, even when playing a prewritten adventure. For Beginners & Veterans: Whether you are a tactics veteran or this is your first RPG, you are welcome here. I am patient, prepared, and love teaching the system. Tone & Style: As a horror writer, I excel at descriptions that stick with you. Expect distinct NPC voices, atmospheric soundscapes, and a game that balances "Rules as Written" fairness with the "Rule of Cool" creativity. The Vibe: We will play hard and laugh often. My tables are safe, inclusive spaces to experience a dangerous, gritty game.

How Charlie creates a safe table
At our session zero we will lay out the themes present in the adventure and go over more details of the following: “Pause for a Minute” During this campaign, at any time, a player or the GM can say “pause for a minute” to stop the current conversation. This can be used for anything from “I really don’t like this thing in the game” to “I don’t understand why we’re in this dungeon.” Use it freely to clarify the direction of the game and address any concerns. Content, Lines, and Veils This campaign unavoidably contains the following subject matter: sickness, body horror, and death. However, how we handle those themes/the degree to which we see them is something that can be mitigated in a Lines and Veils conversation during Session 0. This campaign will not have any of the following: non-consensual sexual contact or harassment of players or NPCs, player-initiated taking of slaves, torture, racism, misogyny, transphobia, or homophobia. Characters in this campaign work together to defeat the shadows of the darkness. Characters will not steal or fight with one another, although they may disagree. You seek the fellowship of your companions to face the shadows in the darkness together.
