About the adventure
🎲Beginner-friendly Campaign in the 40k Imperium Maledictum System. No experience needed in TTRPG. "The Planet broke before the Guard did." It is the mantra that keeps your spine straight and your aim true. But on the smog choked industrial Hive World Persepolis, the locals don't care about the sacrifice of your homeworld. They only care that soldiers wearing Cadian drab are kicking down their doors, racketeering their hab-blocks, and murdering their Enforcers. The local Governor is threatening to cut off the Regiment’s supply lines unless the "Cadian menace" is curbed. You know the Cadian's are the Emperor's most disciplined. You know these crimes are impossible. But the evidence is mounting, and morale is crumbling. Lord Commissar Kroll cannot deploy a tank platoon to fight a rumor, nor can he officially arrest his own men without causing a mutiny instead, he has deployed you. This game is for players who love the Warhammer 40k setting but want to explore the grime behind the glory. Unlike Only War, we won't be fighting pitched battles against Orks every session. This is a game of Military Noir: - Investigation: Interrogating black marketeers, analysing evidence, and navigating Hive politics. - Tension: The threat of the Commissar is just as real as the threat of a ganger’s stubber. - Roleplay: We will explore what it means to be a soldier without a home, fighting to protect a citizenry that despises you. Players who enjoy mystery, political intrigue and uncovering hidden threats will feel at home here. This campaign suits those who like digging for clues and navigating the fine line between righteous judgment and ruthless pragmatism. The tone is grim, cinematic, and character-driven; you are not heroes, but instruments of Imperial survival. Step into the boots of Cadian soldiers, Medicae, Infractionists, Inquisitorial operatives, Apprentce-Enginseers, Sororitas, Voidsmen, Preachers and many more. You will confront heresy wherever it hides. Welcome to the Macharian Sector. Trust no one. Question everything. May the Emperor's light guide you.

About me
Roll20 GM since 2017 with over 1000 hours of experience. Military veteran specialising in grimdark sci-fi, fantasy and historical settings. Delivering well-prepared games on a punctual schedule. Sessions include a balance of unpredictability and improvisation. Expect high-quality VTTs, NPC interactions, supporting media, token art, and character immersion. If you love detailed and interconnected narratives with intrigue and puzzles, then we will have a blast telling stories together. My storytelling journey started in the mid-2000s with a few minis, a handful of little green soldiers and an old deck of cards to 'roll'. I was obsessed with Sci-fi tales of unique characters and heroic adventures, be it grand scale or humble beginnings. Fast forward many years, I found myself creating and hosting online server-based events in GMod (Event Master) and ARMA3 (Zeus Mission Maker) roleplay communities. Telling stories, creating roleplay environments and improvising as characters made thousands of hours fly by. Some would be surprised by the amount of hobby time I would spend writing stories for what was a free community activity, and the enjoyment and satisfaction of it was payment itself. When I found myself moving to TTRPG's I found the skills to be highly transferable in what was essentially another system format to apply creative flow into. Cyberpunk RED and 40k Imperium Maledictum systems in particular are my favourite to dive deep into lore and narratives.

How Icarus creates a safe table
Session 0 is critical as it will cover the table's expectations, comfort zone and discussion of expected content. For those joining the Campaign later on, I will have a one-on-one discussion to make sure you will be comfortable joining in and to discuss expectations. This is a beginner friendly game, assistance will be provided on character sheets and rules. You may simply declare your character's intent and be open to learning.
