About the adventure

This campaign is set in the Astral Plane (aka D&D outer space) and includes lots of high stakes adventuring accompanied with a silly cast of NPCs. This is a great option for players looking for a heroic yet lighthearted campaign and want to play in an extraordinary setting! You'll be "sailing" through Wildspace and the Astral Sea on your own ship throughout the adventure, so prepare for spaceship combat as well as encounters with creatures unique to the Astral Plane. Have you ever wanted to be a space pirate? Now's your chance! Arrggg!

About me

Hello! My name is Julia, and I've been a Game Master since 2022. My favorite genre of TTRPGs to play are generally Sci-Fi, strategy, and survival, although I can have fun playing almost anything! Along with running home games with friends, I frequently volunteer to GM at my local game store, so I have experience adjusting to groups or individuals with different dynamics and expectations. *FYI* I am very flexible with game days/times, so if one of my posted games does not fit with your group's schedule, please message me!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be done during a free Session Zero. Characters all start at level five and are encouraged to follow the theme of the campaign. If you are interested in playing a species, class, or background that is not in the Player's Handbook or the Astral Adventurer's Guide, please check with me first! Players are free to choose either point buy, rolling, or the standard array for deciding on character stats. You can use whichever digital platform you prefer to create and track your character sheet. Old school physical character sheets are also welcome!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I'll be using Discord as the main means of communication for game planning. Once you sign up for the game, I'll send you a Discord link. The "spelljammer" channel is the place for you to inquire about the campaign and chat with your fellow group members. This is also where I'll be sending the Foundry link and any other resources necessary for the campaign.

What Julia brings to the table

In this campaign, my goal is for the players to feel like swashbuckling heroes! I would be more willing to bend the rules a bit if it meant a player could accomplish something creative and awesome! However, with this being a combat-heavy campaign, things will not always be easy, and PC death is a real possibility. But hey, that's what backup characters are for! I love to encourage and reward roleplay in all my games. Get to know your crew and each other on this grand adventure! You're going to be making such cool, interesting characters - I want to see how they interact with this world!

Safety

How Julia creates a safe table

I want to make sure all players feel safe during our sessions. Players will be sent a Lines and Veils document prior to Session 0 so I can have a better understanding of what topics to avoid. Session 0 is also where we'll discuss our wishes for the campaign and any questions/concerns on the players' end.
