About the adventure
Twilight 2000 is a gritty test of survival. Track resources and avoid hazards as you hexcrawl your way across a fictional war-torn Poland in the year 2000. You'll encounter scenerios that force you to make tough moral decisions. Strategize, stay on your guard, and trust no one. You're on your own. This will be a sandbox-style campaign. It is up to the players to decide what their goals are and how to accomplish them. Are you soldiers trying to return to your home country? Civilians trying to rebuild your home? Power-hungry marauders taking advantage of the current toppled political system? This game is intense and, at times, number-crunchy. If you've played Year Zero Engine games before, you'll be fine! If not, I am more than happy to take things slow and walk you through it. I've run this game quite a few times with all beginners!

About me
Hello! My name is Julia, and I've been a Game Master since 2022. My favorite genre of TTRPGs to play are generally Sci-Fi, strategy, and survival, although I can have fun playing almost anything! Along with running home games with friends, I frequently volunteer to GM at my local game store, so I have experience adjusting to groups or individuals with different dynamics and expectations. *FYI* I am very flexible with game days/times, so if one of my posted games does not fit with your group's schedule, please message me!

Creating your character
We will create our characters during a free Session 0! Twilight 2000 has a "life path" system that allows you to develop your character's skills and traits from childhood to the breakout of World War III. You can choose to have a digital copy (Foundry) or physical copy of your character sheet.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I'll be using Discord as the main means of communication for game planning. Once you sign up for the game, I'll send you a Discord link. The "Twilight 2000" channel is the place for you to inquire about the campaign and chat with your fellow group members. This is also where I'll be sending the Foundry link and any other resources necessary for the campaign.
What Julia brings to the table
When I GM Twilight 2000, I don't pull any punches. This is a world of gritty realism, and player characters are not meant to feel like heroic adventurers. I'll do my best to set the tone with music and complex NPCs. Although tactical combat is a large part of this campaign, I also want to reward players who invest in their characters through gripping roleplay.

How Julia creates a safe table
This campaign will include dark subject matter, however I still want to make sure all players feel safe during our sessions. Players will be sent a Lines and Veils document prior to Session 0 so I can have a better understanding of what topics to avoid. Session 0 is also where we'll discuss our wishes for the campaign and any questions/concerns on the players' end. Players are always welcome to message me privately for more detailed questions about possible disturbing content.
