About the adventure
This game is for those who enjoy regency romance media but don't want to have to stick to the problematic gender norms/roles or have to get a degree in history to accurately portray the era! This is for those who love the yearning of Pride & Prejudice, but enjoy the lack of realism in Bridgerton just as much. If you've watched A Court of Fey & Flowers and wished you could be the one to swoon, then this is for you! For fans of cozy romantasy books like Legends & Lattes or Hexes & Haberdashery, come fall in love again and again.... This is a West Marches campaign experience, which means that you can come in as your schedule and budget allows, or stay consistently as the suitor your play falls in love. Once you've made a match, you can come back as a new suitor, say farewell to the campaign as you sail off into the sunset, or come back with your suitor as a guest to help others fall in love, too! This is like a season of Bridgerton with multiple romances happening over time, and there's no rush or pressure to be at every session. The system is simple, quick to learn, and this is built for those with any and all experience in tabletop roleplaying games, as long as you have an interest in telling a collaborative romance story! I am a GM who prioritizes safety and comfort at the table, and I'd be honored to lead you to a magical happily ever after.

Howdy, darlin'! I'm a neurodivergent, queer, POC game master of nearly 5 years, with experience in both creating ttrpg systems and homebrewing campaigns to tell diverse, emotional, and hilarious stories! Creating your character
Character creation is as easy as signing up! You'll get the pdf source materials to be able to look through the options and rules. You get to choose your suitor and familiarize yourself however much you're comfortable with, but each session with new players, we'll take the first 30 minutes to introduce everyone, go over our safety tools, and a how-to-play overview before ever beginning. Don't worry, you won't be left behind!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Once you're a player in the campaign, you'll get a link to join the Discord server where we host our games! You'll be in the Proper Yearning channel, so make sure to grab the Suitor role to see the Voice chat, the game materials, the suitor dance cards, and our meme channels where we keep up with our fellow yearners. All you need is a working camera and microphone. Tech issues can happen at any time, and there's no pressure to have the perfect set up! If you prefer to be off camera at any time, that's okay too!
What Meadow brings to the table
I try to be as immersive as possible! I enjoy showcasing silly npc's, different accents, with storylines that tug on your heartstrings and an intuitive style that helps make roleplay easy! Enjoy the several pinterest boards I've curated to give you outfit description inspiration, setting understanding, and character ideas. I also have several spotify playlists crafted to immerse you in the vibe of the game from dark academia to classical regency, to string quartet pop music covers in the style of Bridgerton. Expect to laugh just as much as you swoon, and for the door to always be open to concerns, critiques, and requests for better accessibility and safer games.
Homebrew rules
We are using the *Very Charming* version of Proper Yearning which allows for magic to be used in the regency surrealism setting. You will get the pdf to the *Very Charming* Proper Yearning In A Time of Uncertainty source book and playbooks!

How Meadow creates a safe table
Since this will be a sprawling campaign, we'll be used a spreadsheet in which all players can add their lines & veils. We also have chat reacts to use for X cards, bio break requests, and tech issue flags so the story stays safe and fun for everyone!
