About the adventure
🍚 Welcome to the Fried Dice Learn to Play: Dungeons & Dragons game! If you're starting from scratch and have no idea how D&D works, this is where we can start. 👥 If you're bringing a friend LET ME KNOW ~ 𝟓𝟎% 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝! 🗺️ Experience scenes and maps, voices for different characters, and a GM who is ever ready to answer any questions over and over and over and over again~ 🧝 You and your newfound party are picking their first quest together! A merfolk requests for your assistance to un-kidnap her lover from the nearby hag's home! A circus marketing agent claims that goblins have attacked the circus and taken over, and will need you to free them! A kobold has sent you to save his friend, who is apparently stuck in his lab - apparently the lab is going haywire! Lastly, a friar sent his student to fetch a magical artefact, but he hasn't returned - find the artifact (and maybe also the boy!). Choose one or choose many, your party will decide! No preparation required other than having your microphone, and browser ready. Pregenerated characters will be provided as well. Cameras are preferable! I will walk you through the rules and how to understand your character sheet before taking you through a mini-choose your adventure style quest in the land of the Penelopean Islands! Safety tools: X-card -------------------------- Things players have said about me: "Josh is amazing! He's patient, professional, and perfect for beginners (like my friend and I). He explains the basics clearly and concisely and keeps the game flowing, while being extremely helpful in guiding us through learning how the game works. His character voices were also entertaining and immersive! Overall, great experience and we definitely would love to have him as game master again <3" - Hiraeth "The GM that brought me from an absolute noob, through to multiple campaigns - even inspiring me to try my hand at running my own games." - Vicnan P "Josh is a fantastic GM for DND. Josh has an amazing eye for detail. Whether its with different voices, music, storytelling, backgrounds, and sound effects. I would highly recommend him in general, and especially if you're a beginner player, as he is very patient too. He memorizes your stats for your character, and probably knows them better than you do. I hope to play many more games with him in the near future! Cheers!" - Kate "Great DM! Josh taught me how to play D&D, and also dmed other great systems! Highly recommended!" - Kwek KJ "They say you never forget your first and Josh has been my the first DM that brought me into D&D and we are still going strong 3 years down the road." - JakeJake "Josh is an amazing GM. His patience and easy instructions will put any beginner players at ease. " - Raphael Rios "Great DM! Josh made the game easy to follow and really fun for beginners. Their storytelling brought the game to life with interesting characters and exciting moments. " - Barry Tay

About me
Hey there, adventurer! If you’re looking for an epic adventure to go on, for something intriguing to unravel, or for scary beasties to eat your character, you’ll find something at my table that is up your alley. I'm Josh (he/him), better known on the internet as Fried Dice. You might've seen me stream my Southeast Asian inspired games on Twitch, or if you live in little red dot called Singapore, you might've played in my games in-person! I’ve been running games professionally for over-half a decade now, and have taught hundreds of new players, shared tables with long-time veterans, and of course everyone else in between. 🍚Community Having run games on twitch, I’ve cultivated a community of TTRPG gamers across the globe. All varieties of experiences, backgrounds, and upbringings have come together and cultivate a safe and welcoming space. 🎲Experience I've ran over 20 campaigns to completion, both homebrew and pre-published campaigns. I've taught hundreds of people how to play D&D from running dozens of Learn to Plays. I primarily run online games on a Foundry, with both animated and static maps. I've run over 100+ online sessions, even more in-person games, encompassing one-shots, mini-arcs, and over 20 campaigns to completion. I’m always looking to learn new TTRPG systems and exploring new ideas. I would love to run games where on top of having fun, everyone grows a little. 🫚Fun and Spice I've been described as an Enabler Game Master by my players, and that fits the bill! I'm all about figuring out what the party wants to do, and making sure it happens. Wanna start a fantasy fast food chain? Let's get there. Want to turn into a dragon? We'll have to work hard for it, but it's not impossible! Do you want to feel like Frodo and the fellowship from Lord of the Rings? Let's make that happen. If all this sounds right up your street, the come by, and let’s have an amazing and memorable adventure together. Bring along a good attitude and respect for the fellow human, and you’ll find yourself right at home. ✨ CURRENTLY AVAILABLE for online games across multiple time zones

What to expect
Preparing for the session

What Fried Dice (Josh) brings to the table
All sheets are provided within my Foundry VTT instance - you will need a Forge VTT account prior. Music will be provided in the VTT, as well as both static and animated scenes, battlemaps, tokens, and art work. I like to do voices and accents (I'd say I'm okay at them!) and when I can't do a voice, I also have voice changers~

How Fried Dice (Josh) creates a safe table
I will send you a lines and veils document that can be shared between the party members - this will basically inform us of the things you would rather not talk about. Feel free to message me for more details. In game, we will have the X-card mechanic. If we talk about anything that is beyond what you find acceptable, you may ping the X card, and it will popup immediately pausing the game. We will pause, and take a breather before discussing if we can continue the game.
