About the adventure

You are a member of a group of troubleshooters for the undead-ruled nation of Geb. Your employer has sent you to investigate a nearby farm where several zombie animals have broken loose and are running rampant. She offers the deed to an abandoned manor outside Graydirge as payment for setting the farm in working order, but you must clear the manor of dangerous creatures before it can function as your new base of operations. Whether you are a scheming vampire, a shambling ghoul or a kind soul doing their best, you will have a place in this campaign. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to join; I am more than happy to teach you how to play.

About me

I have been running Pathfinder 2e, D&D 5e and Old-School Essentials for fun for the last couple of years, and have recently started running games professionally. I love to teach new people how to play these games and meet people where they're at, so they can learn and have a great time. My games are all about interesting scenarios and interactivity. Expect a mix of roleplay, exploration and tactical combat from my games, with balanced pacing that gives each encounter depth without becoming stale. I do not use AI for anything.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will create characters together in session 0 on Foundry, with all characters starting at level 1. I strongly recommend using Pathbuilder to help with this but it is not required. You may use any content available on Archives of Nethys. Let me know if you want anything not yet available on there so I can reference the material elsewhere, such as on Demiplane or in the relevant book. All Common and Uncommon options are okay to use. Rare undead options are highly encouraged! Check out the free Player's Guide for some ideas for the module: https://downloads.paizo.com/BloodLords_PlayersGuide.pdf - note that some relevant options have been added to the game since the publication of this, such as playable ghouls, werecreatures and vampires, all of which are highly encouraged! You may use the Necromancer class playtest in this campaign: https://app.demiplane.com/nexus/pathfinder2e/classes/necromancer-playtest

The current party

The party is currently at level 1, and has just started the adventure. We have: * A cadaverous ozid (Oozefolk of Golarion) resurgent maelstrom magus. * A dhampir fleshwarp bloodrager barbarian. * A dhampir kholo commander. * A poppet demonic sorcerer.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord account as we will be using it for text and voice communication. You will also need an account on Forge VTT as the game will be hosted there.

What Spey brings to the table

I keep a varied balance of tactical combat, in-depth roleplay and freeform exploration in my games. I have an extensive library of music to use, many high quality maps, and will make use of some Foundry special effects to add flair to the game. I mostly run rules as written but am always open to player creativity. If you have a good idea you want to try, I will make it work. I try to keep this balanced with the normal options as to not overshadow engaging with the core mechanics. I have a pretty wide vocal range from voice training so I do some NPC voices, but I am no professional voice actress!

Safety

How Spey creates a safe table

Session 0 will go over the content of the game, what to expect and what people may find too uncomfortable. Where possible I will modify content to account for this, such as by toning down violence or replacing enemies such as spiders. As this is a horror themed adventure path, altering content may sometimes be difficult or impossible while fitting into the theme and story. We will discuss Lines and Veils in session 0 to make sure we have a good idea going into this what people are okay with and whether this adventure is a good fit. Please be aware of this and feel free to back out if early sessions are too much for you - I will happily refund you! At any time players may press the X button on Foundry or say "X Card" and we will break for a discussion to sort out the issue and keep the game going after with the triggering content amended or removed.
