About the adventure

A homebrew campaign set in the Forgotten Realms. A living, adaptive world where choices will have consequences in the future narratives. The campaign is planned to be divided into five level arcs, starting with levels 1-5, then moving to a new arc for 5-10, then 10-15, etc. The arcs will be designed to grow in scale, starting with a smaller settlement/region, then expanding to larger scale plots.

About me

I’ve been passionate about TTRPGs ever since a few friends first invited me to their table. My very first game was a homebrew setting using Pathfinder rules, and although the adventure itself was rough, the sense of freedom, creativity, and community it sparked had me hooked immediately. That early experience pushed me to start GMing, beginning with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The system wasn’t the smoothest, but I quickly discovered how much I enjoyed bringing people together each week and crafting stories tailored to my players. Since then, I’ve been running games for over a decade, both in person and online, with players from all over the world. While working as a contractor on an air base in Japan, I began to build a small gaming community that would be come Friendly Neighborhood Games. Over the years, I’ve run everything from one-shots to long campaigns, across multiple systems and genres, and I’ve had the privilege of working with players of all styles and experience levels. For me, GMing is about creating a welcoming space where everyone at the table can tell a story together. It’s been one of the most rewarding parts of my life, and I’m excited to bring that same energy, creativity, and care to new groups and new adventures.

What Dylan, Friendly Neighborhood GM brings to the table

I prefer to stick to Rules As Written (RAW) so that everyone has an equal expectation of the mechanics, but will use Rule of Cool (RoC) when it best serves the story.

Homebrew rules

- Equipping/Swapping Weapons as a Bonus Item. - Disadvantage when using Ranged Attacks against an enemy with allies in your line of sight.
