About the adventure

Ignored. Overlooked. Underestimated. But no more. With his magical crown, King Merlokrep, first of his name, is poised to bring the Truescale Kobolds into a new age of prosperity... đź‘‘ Classic dungeon delve! đź‘‘ Lovable and goofy villains! đź‘‘ New art and maps created for this revised edition! đź‘‘ Short-term campaign - experience character growth in a fast-paced, self-contained adventure! đź‘‘ Third most reviewed DM on StartPlaying! One of the most beloved Paizo adventures is revised and reborn as a mini-campaign for Pathfinder 2nd Edition. An ancient dwarven relic, buried for generations, resurfaces in the unknowing - if not so innocent - hands of a kobold chieftain. Cowardly but cunning, cautious but quick, kobolds make for memorable antagonists. Remember the first time you met these fierce mini-dragons in the dark... This is a short-term Pathfinder 2E campaign that should take players from 1st to 6th level. We will be playing weekly at the same time, for three-hour sessions, using Foundry VTT (hosted on Forge) and Discord. Please let me know if you have any questions, or send me a message if you are interested in setting up a private run of this adventure for your existing party, at a time that fits your schedule.

About me

Greetings, adventurers. My name is George, and I have been immersing myself in TTRPGs since around 2001. My journey into the realm of Game Mastering took a serious turn with the release of Pathfinder. My background in theatre, history, and education has been instrumental in shaping my GM style, which emphasizes dramatic conflict, challenging decisions, and character development. I’ve had the pleasure of engaging with a diverse and international player population, both online and in person. This experience has enriched my understanding of the game and its global appeal. The games I run are primarily drawn from official Paizo publications for Pathfinder, supplemented by key resources from publishers like Kobold Press and Sly Flourish. In each campaign, I make it a point to engage with the player characters’ backgrounds. This begins with a session zero where we collaboratively create characters that align with the theme of the campaign. Each campaign I run is a unique world unto itself. I strive to create a distinctive and consistent atmosphere for each one, whether it’s the dark and grim tone of a horror campaign or the epic battles of a high fantasy adventure. Some campaigns may include unique mechanics tailored to their theme. My games, even when played remotely online, aim to emulate the feel of a traditional tabletop experience as much as possible. I prefer to keep technology from overwhelming the gameplay, allowing us to focus on the human elements of the game - the people around our virtual table. I am always available to answer questions through this site. If you have any doubts before signing up for a session, please contact me. I am always eager to hear from established parties who are looking for a new GM. Whether you have already been gaming together, or you are a group of friends, coworkers, or a family group, I would love to embark on an adventure with you. I am also open to requests from existing/ongoing groups for a specific campaign for your party. Whether you have a published module in mind or just an idea that you’d like to develop, I’m here to help you play the game you want to play! Remember, the essence of tabletop gaming is to have fun and create memorable stories together. Let’s roll the dice!

Character creation

Creating your character

The adventure takes player characters from 1st to 6th level. We will create characters together during session zero, after discussing the campaign setting and theme. Players who join late will join the adventure as the same level as the rest of the party, using the starting wealth table to select appropriate equipment. We will be using the Free Archetype rule.

Safety

How George creates a safe table

The adventure contains the typical amount of violence for a heroic fantasy adventure. As part of our session zero, we will use a tool called Lines and Veils to set our own personal limits on what type of content we are and are not eager to have included in our adventure together. This is not a binding conract, but a living document that can be returned to during play. Any language or behaviour that makes other players feel unwelcome or uncomfortable at the table will not be tolerated. The adventure includes a variety of modes of play, but it does favor the dungeon crawl mode - much of the narrative takes place underground after the first level or so.
