Creating your character

The free session zero will cover everything about character creation, although eager players are welcome to get a head start! ----------------------------------------------------- ⚔️ Campaign starts at level 3 📖 All official WotC races, classes, and backgrounds are allowed 💪 A generous custom array for ability scores. 🛡️Starting equipment from main class and background 👍Multiclassing encouraged 🪶Most homebrew allowed, as long as you clear it with me first! ----------------------------------------------------- This campaign is NEW PLAYER friendly, and I offer simple pre-generated characters for anyone overwhelmed by character creation.

Preparing for the session

🎙️ Working microphone and free Discord account 🎲 A Roll20 account, for access to the battlemap and music 🤝 A good attitude towards fellow players and DMs - 🐉 D&D Beyond is optional but useful 🥰 A camera is recommended for immersion, but not required.

Homebrew rules

House rules will be covered during session zero, but the following are the big ones: • Rule of Cool • If an attack roll beats the target's AC by 10 or more, it counts as an artificial critical. • Negative Hit points Exist, they work how you think they'd work • Standing up from prone triggers an attack of opportunity • Spells of level 2 or lower don’t count against the ‘one spell slot spell per turn’ rule

How Ellery/Scriblatives creates a safe table

Although baroiva will have its fair share of goofy moments and zany characters, a central part of its theming is the gothic- things like hopelessness and difficult moral choices. Because of this, a crucial part of the pre-game process will be discussing triggers and content warnings to ensure everyone is as comfortable as possible. I will also regularly check in, to make sure everyone is having as much fun as possible.
