About the adventure
Hi! I'm Nicolai, a DM new to this platform, but experienced in the world of dnd. This is my first ever official listing on this website, hopefully with more to come in the future. The game i want to run is going to be very beginner friendly, but certainly open to more experienced players as well :)). The setting of the adventure we are playing is rather grim and ominous in many ways, but my playstyle is usually very lighthearted and fun for the players. My expectation to you as a player, is simply that you like playing with others and that you want to engage and interact with the world you are in. Other than that I think we can figure out a way for everyone to be a significant part of this collaborative storytelling that is dnd. I hope to see you at the (virtual) table! All the best, your humble DM

About me
Chill, outgoing, nerdy and most of all DnD loving person. I like to make the game fun for everyone and make players have the feeling of being able to do anything. I follow the PHB, but if something just makes sense in the moment, either for the sake of storytelling, or for the sake of fun, I allow it without a doubt. I've run campaigns with five different groups now. so far only with great feedback. I’m a student and would therefore love to play some games online in my spare time. Looking forward to meeting you!

Creating your character
i am going to run the game based around the 2024 players handbook. that said, if there is anything outside that you want to do, i am sure we can figure something out :)) the first session, is going to be a so called "session 0" where we set our expectations, and create our characters. I would appreciate if you showed up to this with some sort of an idea in hand. This, plus an additional first session, will be free of charge :)) Looking forward to meeting you all!
I will make the session zero free, as it will mostly be running ideas by each other, while making character concepts for this scenario :))
What to expect
Preparing for the session
as I have mentioned, I am fairly new to virtual dnd. I am planning to use Roll20 as the tabletop, and discord for talking. So make sure to have an account prepared on both. it should be free :))
What GM Nicolai brings to the table
I would describe myself as a loose DM, i stick to the rules, but if it stops us from doing something we want to do, i will make something up to accommodate that. Rule of cool, for short. My biggest goal is for you to have fun while caring about the story and characters within it. I do voices, i will try to make some background music work and I will try to have a cool combat scenario about once a session (varies). I love to dm and i love improvising, so there should be no shortage on immersion from my side of the table :))
Homebrew rules
death saves will not be shared with the rest of the party. they are only between the player, and me :)). other than that I will often give you advantage on rolls where you figure out a creative solution, in order to highlight cool things my players come up with. but i don't have a concrete set of homebrew rules.

How GM Nicolai creates a safe table
I will ask about any hard and soft lines I should take into consideration during session 0. and I will ask about the game when we are done playing or during a break. Most of all, i hope to create a space where everyone feels comfortable saying no, or butting in if something is off. Whether that is directly to me or even better, with the other players.
