About the adventure
Darkness seeps through the mists of a land forgotten by time and mercy alike. The sun rarely pierces the clouds, and the people live in quiet terror beneath the gaze of their undying master. In this gothic horror campaign, your party finds itself drawn into a realm from which there is no easy escape—a land cursed by tragedy, haunted by the undead, and ruled by an ancient, sorrowful evil. At the heart of this despair stands a lord of terrible charm and cruelty, whose shadow touches every soul in his domain. His fortress looms high above the valleys, its spires clawing at the heavens as if to mock them. Yet, even he is bound by fate’s cruel design; a prisoner of his own unending hunger. The mists do not merely conceal the borders of this cursed land—they test the hearts of all who enter, revealing their fears, desires, and the true cost of hope. Adventurers who come to this realm will face more than monsters and ghosts. They will encounter desperate villagers who cling to life by candlelight, ancient spirits yearning for peace, and forgotten sanctuaries where a flicker of divine light still burns. Every choice carries weight here: a single promise kept or broken can shape the balance between salvation and despair. From haunted forests to decaying manor halls, every step deeper into this land pulls you further into its story—a tale of obsession, redemption, and the eternal struggle against darkness. The mists are patient. They will not let you go until your tale is complete. Will you defy the curse that binds this realm, or will you, too, become a whisper lost to the mist?

About me
Hi there! I’m Robin, and I’ve been running Dungeons & Dragons games since 2015. That year, I first discovered TTRPGs and instantly fell in love with the hobby. It quickly became a creative calling: building worlds, guiding adventurers, and crafting stories that leave lasting impressions on people. I care most about creating experiences that feel alive and emotionally grounded. I want players to feel immersed in the story; this means they make meaningful choices and form real connections. My bachelor's in anthropology, paired with my love for worldbuilding, has given me the tools to create detailed, unique, and memorable cultures and societies for my own campaign settings. Whether the tone leans toward epic, tragic, or lighthearted, my focus is always on immersion, character-driven storytelling, and building a table where everyone feels safe and excited to roleplay. Over the years, I’ve run games for a wide range of players and personalities, and I’ve learned that the best sessions come from trust and communication. I love adapting to different playstyles and weaving each player’s imagination into the adventure. If you’re looking for a game that values story, character, and genuine collaboration, I'd love to see you at my table. The adventure’s waiting, and there’s always room for one more!

Creating your character
- Character creation will take place during session 0, but feel free to workshop ideas with me privately in a call or by messaging beforehand. - All official 5e material is allowed. - Due to the nature of the campaign's premise, a group of adventurers are whisked away from their home to another world, it's important to keep in mind that it may be difficult to incorporate large amounts of meaningful detail from your backstories. - Players may roll for stats or fall back on point buy if unsatisfied with rolls. - Everyone starts with 1 free feat.
What to expect

What Robin brings to the table
When I run the game, I give my players a premium experience by enriching my sessions with the following: - Voice Acting: I do my absolute best to give evocative and character-appropriate voices to pretty much all of the NPCs that you'll be interacting with. - Music: I make use of a discord bot that plays music during our sessions, and I try to constantly make sure whatever track is on is as fitting as it can be for the current scene. For pivotal boss fights, I usually pick out specific tracks days ahead of time. - I own all of the necessary digital tools on Roll20 that you'll need to make your 2014 5e character, in addition to a Roll20 Pro subscription that enhances our games with dynamic lighting and the occasional API script to smooth things out. - I try to make player-favoring rulings as often as I reasonably can. I want everyone to have fun at my table, so when I'm usually willing to let a rule or two bend here and there if adhering to it wouldn't really enrich the overall table's enjoyment. - I spend hours preparing and I'm dedicated to showing up every single week. Additionally, I make myself very available via DMs if my players ever have questions about my games in between sessions or just want to chat.
Homebrew rules
There aren't any homebrew rules that I automatically place on any game without getting a consensus from my party, but here is a list of some potential homebrew rules/houserules that we'll be discussing during session 0: - Player Characters can enter a "helpless" state at 0 HP instead of becoming unconscious. - Is flanking used? - When is initiative rolled? How do "surprise rounds" work? Please let me know before or during our session 0 if there are any other houserules/homebrew rules that you'd like to be considered for the game :)

How Robin creates a safe table
I will privately ask all players to let me know if there are any specific themes or types of content that they are uncomfortable with, and I will make sure everyone else in the party is aware of what is off limits during our session 0 (which will not be charged as a session). Moreover, I build in halfway point breaks into my sessions and I like to take a few minutes at the end of every session to debrief and give players a chance to give feedback on the session without any fear of judgement or shame. I always strive to make sure that everyone at my table is comfortable and safe while having a good time!
