About the adventure

Spanning the mid-to-late 1920's, this campaign revolves around the citizens of Arkham, Massachusetts. You all come from different walks of life. One of you might be a professor at the prestigious Miskatonic University; another might be a bootlegger who works for one of the town's crime families! No matter who you are or where you come from however, the hands of fate have brought you all together... This campaign will be largely episodic, but will have an overarching mystery that plays out over the course of the campaign.

About me

Ever since I was young, I've loved telling stories. Whenever there was a creative writing project in school, I would always go way overboard. I've been playing tabletop games for only about four years, but I have come to realize that it is a wonderful outlet for storytelling. When I run games, there is an emphasis on story, worldbuilding, and characters. My goal is to make you fully invested in the story we're making together! I am a complete beginner at running games professionally, so if you like any of the games I've run for you, leave a nice review or a tip if you are able to do so!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be making characters in the days leading up to the session. I will try to check in with all of you through DMs and see if you'll need any help with your characters. If you don't feel like making a character, pregenerated ones will be provided!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Make sure you have a Roll20 account and a Discord so you can join my server! The Roll20 link will be in the Player Prep Materials, and I'll DM you the Discord invite once you sign up for the session! We'll be using voice chat, so a mic will be required.

What Mia Hawksley brings to the table

There will be high quality maps, tokens, music, and handouts prepared for all of you to fully immerse you! In addition, I like to do voices for all the different characters, as well as creature noises if necessary. I also have the Investigator's Handbook on Roll20, allowing us to create characters within the game itself, as well as the Arkham sourcebook which has all the unique mechanics!

Homebrew rules

Instead of marking skills for improvement when we succeed a role, we will be marking them when a roll fails. Think of it as learning from your mistakes!

Safety

How Mia Hawksley creates a safe table

I will have a document in the Roll20 that will serve as a list of lines and veils, as well as an explanation for what Lines and Veils are. If you have any you want me to know, you can edit the document completely anonymously, no questions asked.
