About the adventure
Set in a world that is trying to recover from the misuse of a lost and mysterious power that fell from the sky ages ago. This misuse caused rifts to form between this world and world of horror. The effects stretch far beyond the cites that have been lost to the horrors. Though the rifts have mostly closed, the nightmares and monsters that came through still haunt the lands. Many question if the gods have abandoned them for how are they meant to weather this storm. In this Victorian horror setting, you will explore mysteries, unravel secrets of the city, and even delve into lost cites, claimed by madness and horrors from another realm. A strange power was used in the past that led to whole cities and even kingdoms to descend into states of pure nightmares. Though dangerous, much can be recovered and salvaged from these lost sights. You will have to navigate dangerous games of intrigue and deadly enemies to get anywhere in this life.

Creating your character
You will start as level 2 characters, think of why your character is a delver, why go into lost cites that are left to the nightmares that now inhabit them, why do they adventure? Is it a need for money, power, influence or to try and avenge someone? these are just a few ideas. The story will unfold as you and the group solve mysteries and discover new and lost lore. As well as having personal arch and story moments woven in. You are free to make whatever character you like, all I ask is that they have some npc's and a little story or history to them with their own personal goal or wants. The only hard No for characters as far as the mechanical side is no humans, Cthulhu by torch light, and griffons saddle bags. We will be using 2024 classes and subclasses. and race can be 2024 or 2014. You can inquire about any partnered content. Stats will be rolled, though reroll if the total is 72 or lower. You can also go with standard array or point buy. You will also have 1 uncommon magical item to give your player some personal flair.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need at least the free versions of Dndbeyond, roll20 and discord, as well as the beyond20 extension. Reliable internet, a computer or laptop, and a working mic.
What WeirdDruid brings to the table
I love rule cool, I tend towards harder combat and lighter puzzles, but i make sure to take the time for players new and old to grasp what's going on. Happy to work with newer players, always read to help with questions. I feel these games work best when the characters feel a part of the world. That they have family or even just friends and that they have traveled, made friend and foe along the way. I have access to lots of dnd content as well as homebrew items, i make all the maps that you will explore, they come with lighting, doors, windows ect that you can interact with. As well as music to go with the mood and scene.
Homebrew rules
Not many other than, healing items are a bonus action to use or use on others, flanking is a +2 to melee attack roles, and heroic inspiration can be used to reroll things like a low damage fireball.

How WeirdDruid creates a safe table
There will be a free session 0 to make sure everyone is aware of hardlines and vails we all have. This is a more horror setting so there will be gore and violence, but some violence is not going to be a part of this campaign, like Sexual violence, or violence aimed at children or animals. If ever something gets to be too much, must message me a x and we will take a pause and regroup so that everyone feels comfortable to continue. There are things that just don't happen in my games and those are Sexual assault Any hate or violence based of gender, sex, real life race, sexual orientation, and to children and animals. This is a LGBTQ+ campaign, story and community.
