About the adventure
The USS Orion is a newly commissioned Nebula-class vessel assigned to chart the unexplored reaches of the Typhon Expanse. The mission is simple—exploration, science, diplomacy—but the unknown rarely stays simple. In this episode: When a maverick scientist’s experimental transwarp drive spirals out of control near the Romulan Neutral Zone, the crew of the U.S.S. Orion must balance scientific curiosity against the threat of interstellar crisis. As spatial distortions ripple across subspace, a volatile mix of ambition, diplomacy, and ethics collides aboard a failing vessel. With Romulan ships closing in and the fabric of space itself beginning to tear, the crew must decide how far they’re willing to go in the name of discovery—and what price they’re willing to pay for it. ___________ New to Star Trek Adventures? You’re welcome here. This is a one-shot, so it’s a low-pressure way to try the game—rules taught as we play. I’m running future one-shots on the same ship, and we’ll carry choices forward, West Marches–style, so you can drop in and out as your schedule allows and still feel the ripple effects. We’ll play this episode to completion in a solid 3–4 hours of play.

About me
Hello all you fine people! I started my RPG journey with the D&D Rules Cyclopedia, wrangling my sister, aunt, and whoever else I could convince to the table to roll some dice. Then I got hooked in high school with a regular AD&D 2nd Edition group. Been playing since D&D 3.5 ever since, took a stab at Pathfinder 1st Edition. Now obsessed with Star Trek Adventures. But looking to expand horizons. As a GM, I love building immersive stories and tricky encounters. As a player, I'm all about supporting a great story so happy to take a supportive role when it's time for someone else to shine. I'm a teacher at heart so I'm always happy to welcome new players. If you’re looking for a story-first table with room to roleplay, experiment, and occasionally set something on fire, you’re in the right place.

Creating your character
I have a range of pre-made characters to select from. Perfect for folks who just want a one-night episode or eager to explore Star Trek Adventures. Want to create your own character? You should start by using the most excellent BC Holmes character creator: https://sta.bcholmes.org/ - Your character should be classic TNG era. Embrace it. This being a one-shot adventure I'm open to any and all officer ranks (except Captain). I will work with you offline through a dedicated Discord Server to answer any questions, vet choices and ensure we don't have 4 Chief Medical Officers on this adventure.
