About the adventure
Westeros falters. In the year 282 AC, everything from the Vale to the Stormlands screams of rebellion. But while some bannermen heed the call, and take up arms against the Mad King, others keep loyal to House Targaryen. As Robert's Rebellion grows, and Aerys II's most loyal venerates side against him, the crown's desperation begins to simmer. It is evident the Targaryens no longer hold the power they once did, and the possibility of true defeat is one that a man as paranoid as the Mad King will not entertain. The Battles at Summerhall come to an end, and Aerys II puts into motion a dark flickering plan, entrusted to no man, that may prove the key to snuffing out the belligerents, and swaying the still neutral houses to his cause. Under the assurance they'll be legitimized, knighted, or otherwise endowed with coin and land and titles, the Mad King solicits bastards, hedgeknights, and sellswords to meet at the Red Keep. A chosen few will be charged with carrying out the plan Aerys II has concocted, sworn to secrecy, and granted pardon regardless their past crimes or allegiances. A fearsome duty awaits those willing to brave the madness. Whether seeking status, gold, or to relay the Mad King's plot back to the rebellion, whether ambivalent or conspiring, loyal or turncloak, a greater time of change has not been felt across the Seven Kingdoms since Aegon's Conquest. Seize the opportunity to make your mark, before the fate of the realm is sealed.

About me
Hello there! I'm Fitz (they/he), and I have been a GM for about 10 years—4 of those professionally. I run weekly paid games, high concept one-shots, and have built up quite the tight-knit community over at what we like to call "Also Dragons". Most of the campaigns I run take place in an overarching homebrew setting, spanning different genres, corners of the world, and differing types of magic and technology. Together they paint a larger picture, each player adding a brushstroke.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will occur in call, to allow for discussion of potential backstory connections and to allow consistency with the rest of the party. Nothing worse than a player making a character they are passionate about only to find that it's not a good fit for the setting or the party! There are some other details around equipment and house rules that will be elaborated on in Session Zero and may inform some player choices!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Stable, reliable internet connection and audio quality required. Video preferred but totally optional. We will be using Discord as our primary tool for voice, video, campaign tracking, and battlemaps, with some room for Google Drive or foundry where it is useful for players.
What Fitz♦️🍏Also Dragons brings to the table
I have access to a number of stunning visual references and animated battle maps which we will be using via a screensharing VTT method. I prefer this approach as I feel it best emulates an at-the-table feel and reduces the amount of tabs and things for people to keep track of! I will also provide the players with everything they need to play a game system they may be unfamiliar with, including rules and character creation resources.

How Fitz♦️🍏Also Dragons creates a safe table
Session Zero allows the players to take the floor, ask questions about the setting, make requests for content they would (or would not) like to see. We will get you oriented with the server, discuss house rules and general community dynamic, and go through content-consent checklists to gauge levels of comfortability with subject matter that may (but will likely not) arise.
