About the adventure

You find yourselves on the continent of Kaan, traveling the land (above or below), navigating the danger and intrigue at hand, while threats all around, blossom and grow. The intrigues of Emperor, general, or common man; will pale in their insignificance. As you unearth, under-earth, a cankerous plan; of insidious blooming malignance. Across the Ustalva sea the Cyrillane Empire has fallen into civil war. The giants are restless in the Septentrion to the North. The immortal Ilkral of the Kartaçöl Empire plots and schemes of conquest in shining Easifir. And in the Netherworld, deep beneath the earth, an ages old evil stirs, slipping its malignant tendrils into the world above. I am the Mad Catter, I've been running RPG's since I was a wee little Catter, and I will probably stop when I'm dead. Maybe not even then. I have a background in theater, I am a storyteller, and consider one of the heights of the craft to be the collective weaving of tales a group can conjure up. Creating your character

4d6 subtract the lowest, done via the VTT, if your rolls suck or you just don't want to bother, we'll use point buy rules as seen on page 19 of the Adventurer's book. Max hit points through level three (the starting level) after which you can choose to roll or take the average.

If you're familiar with 5e, you're in luck, FateForge takes the 5e SRD as adds modular rules. So if you've played D&D, you know how to play FateForge, if you haven't played, then FateForge is an excellent entry into 5e based games. What The Mad Catter brings to the table

I will provide all the necessary content so you shouldn't have to pay a dime. You can acquire the core books for free on DriveThruRPG but I'll also have them available through Google drive. I have a passion for this setting, and in a time when I am turning away from D&D in general, I have fallen in love with this world and this modular variant. I do character voices, provide ambient music through the AlchemyRPG platform, and will utilize said platform to the best of my abilities. This will largely be a homebrew campaign wherein I combine an overarching plot of a growing evil in a continent steeped in intrigue while intertwining backstories. Some published adventures might be utilized, but only as appropriate. When not using published modules and their maps, I'll be using maps from my large collection, or I'll craft them in Dungeon Alchemist. This will be a deadlier game, and while players will still be a cut above the NPC's, we'll be using the wound rules as described in the Adventurers Guide.

Homebrew rules

FateForge itself is a 5e variant built on the premise of modular rules. I'll be using a lot of the Dark Fantasy and Gritty options for a deadlier game. Players can choose if they want to be 'Awakened' (able to use magic/supernatural abilities) from the start, or if they want me to incorporate that a few sessions in.
