About the adventure
I run 100% custom campaigns where the story, setting, and challenges are built around your characters and playstyle. Expect deep worldbuilding, meaningful choices, and dynamic encounters that reward teamwork and creativity. The campaing focus and major plot points are based directly on your player character — no modules, just a living world reacting to your actions. Whether this is your first time playing D&D or you’ve rolled dice before, I’ll be there with you through every step. The focus is on fun and storytelling that grows with you. My bread and butter is fantasy or fantasy-history and polical meddeling but i can do other themes

About me
I have cultivated a deep passion for board games for many years, an interest that has been part of my life since childhood, combining creativity, logic, and teamwork. I’ve always been fascinated by the design of rules and systems, and by how mechanics shape the players’ experience. I discovered Dungeons & Dragons about five years ago, and after just over a year of playing, I decided to take on the role of Dungeon Master. Since then, I have created and run multiple campaigns — some inspired by Ancient Greece, others set in more traditional fantasy worlds, always of my design. As a Dungeon Master, I enjoy introducing new mechanics, playtesting custom rules, and gathering player feedback to make each session more engaging and dynamic. I strongly believe in experimentation and in building shared storytelling experiences where the narrative comes to life through collective creativity.

Creating your character
Character creation happens before the first game, but after Session 0, during a short one-on-one meeting with me. In that session, we’ll build your character together based on the setting, themes, goals, and boundaries we defined as a group during Session 0. Stats: Ability scores are rolled during Session 0 using my signature Matrix System. The party rolls a 6×6 grid of stats (each stat rolled with 4d6, drop the lowest). Each player then chooses one complete line, column, or diagonal from the grid — wrap-around diagonals are allowed, just like in a true matrix. No two players can select the same line, ensuring a fun mix of cooperation and strategy. It’s easy once you see it in action and results in slightly stronger heroes overall (average stats around 12.2–13.5). Starting Level: Usually Level 3, so everyone begins with their subclass and a good feel for their abilities. If the group prefers a higher-level start, that’s absolutely possible. Character Tools: We’ll use Aurora Builder for character sheets and a short Word appendix for temporary homebrew materials until they’re added to the app. Spellcasters will also use a separate sheet to track Spell Points (explained later). Allowed Books: All official 5e sources are welcome. We’ll decide together what fits the campaign’s tone. Homebrew and third-party content are allowed case by case, with final approval from me to keep the game balanced. Spellcasting: I use the Spell Points variant from the Dungeon Master’s Guide to make spellcasting more flexible. The goal is to make sure everyone begins on equal footing, with characters that feel alive, balanced, and deeply connected to the story we’ll build together.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Session 0 will be held on Discord, where we’ll get to know each other, discuss expectations, and choose the group’s preferred platform for play. Most sessions are run in a theater-of-the-mind style, supported by background music and evocative images to set the mood. For more complex or tactical encounters—where positioning and distance matter—I’ll use a Virtual Tabletop (VTT) on my end to visualize the scene. No software or setup is required from players, so you can simply focus on the story and the action. I Would strongly advise not to connect via phone and without a camera since it would hinder your experience in a major way
What Davide brings to the table
I enjoy blending different styles of play — roughly five sessions out of nine are a mix of action and storytelling, two are dedicated to deep roleplay and social interaction, and two focus on classic dungeon exploration. I like to challenge my players with clever puzzles, references to real-world history and current world-wide, and subtle wordplay that reward curiosity and creative thinking. I value teamwork and shared spotlight: I often favor support-oriented builds and mechanics that allow everyone to shine since by definition they cannot act alone. I love running games for strong, imaginative players who are ready for epic adventures and collaborative storytelling, where every choice can shape the fate of the world but everyone is welcome There is no need for any paid subscriptions to any service as i use Foundry Vtt when necessary P.S. I may use a tad too many puns
Homebrew rules
Stats: As mentioned earlier, ability scores are rolled using the Matrix Grid system, giving the party balanced and strategic options. Tarots: I use tarot decks for inspiration and to add flair to critical rolls, based on Sine Requie (an Italian TTRPG). When a player receives inspiration, they draw from the minor arcana deck (essentially a normal deck) and can apply it to any d20 roll—yours or an NPC’s. On a critical hit, players may draw a Major Arcana card, which can enhance or complicate the result. The decks are reset at the end of each session, so previous draws subtly influence the odds for future sessions. Major Arcana are also used for abilities like Portent, Lucky, etc. You can find interpretations here (https://docs.google.com/document/d/19sWBSULxFujqxWoBaxhIPEY4VXesJt0fTm8XN4OWW0M/edit?usp=sharing) . Wild Magic & Martial Arts: Wild Magic Sorcerers use a custom chaos threshold and table for unpredictable fun. Monks follow the D&D 24 Martial Arts die progression. Special Conditions: Occasionally, I may ask for emphasized rolls for conditions like drunkenness or other peculiar situations — thanks to Brennan for the inspiration! Potions: Only healing potions are modified: taking them as a bonus action gives a normal effect, or as a full action grants the maximum benefit. Homebrew: Additional homebrew content will be introduced and tailored specifically to your characters as the story progresses, keeping the game fresh and personal.

How Davide creates a safe table
During Session 0, we’ll discuss any topics the group prefers to avoid or handle carefully. We’ll also go through the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist to make sure everyone feels comfortable. After each session, we’ll have a debrief to adjust the game to the group’s preferences and ensure the experience stays enjoyable for everyone. If you prefer not to share certain limits publicly, you can contact me privately. We’ll work out a solution, and I will communicate any necessary updates to the group without revealing the reason, keeping the table safe and fun for everyone.
