About the adventure

In times before the Citadel Wars, sky citys dotted the horrizon. The people of the ground became disillusioned with the greed of those in the sky and waged a 30 year long war against them. In the end, only one sky city remained, Cloudbearer, and for the past 200 years this city has remained a mystery. Most common folk believe that it was taken down near the end of the war, some say it never even existed. One thing most story tellers spread is that there is a vast amount of wealth and treasure to be found within it's confines, wherever that may be. You have been hired by the Lady of the Heights, Queen of the Emerald Coast, Jesra Ulmaki. to go out into the world in search for this mysterious city. Discover the world of Heretium and reclaim the past.

About me

I'm going to run THAT game, the one you've always wanted to play... - You're welcome Hi there! I've been the forever GM for my group of my friends in DnD 5e for a decade and I feel like I have enough experience to slightly monitize this passion of mine.(Big ups to capitalism for that :)) Whether you want high or low magic, dark or light fantasy, gritty or smooth realism, the choice is yours. Whatever you prefer, I will handle with care and grace. Homebrew is accepted if it is brought to my attention and if needed, workshopped.

Character creation

Creating your character

We'll be using D&D Beyond, I'll make a campaign and invite you. We can make the characters together as a fun team building activity in Session 0 and so that I can answer any questions about lore or homebrew pitches. The starting level will be 3rd.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

What Colin brings to the table

I'm very new to explaining what I do, most of how I run my games is very similar to an improv sketch that we're living in. I don't like to say "no" to people so if it's funny or cool enough then I'm very relaxed. But if you're more into crunchy, fight to the skin of your teeth then I'm well versed enough with the rules to be ruthless. Voices make up most of what I think about besides lore, I think it adds a great deal to the experience. I also can't DM without some background music.

Homebrew rules

I'll just make a list - Health potions are bonus actions. - Death saves must be kept secret from party members, shared only with the GM. - I'm cool with you making your own anything, as long as it gets a personal greenlight from me. -Crits mean double the total rolled on the dice.

Safety

How Colin creates a safe table

There are a varitey of things that can and will be done for player saftey. I cannot have a good time if other people aren't, so the door is always open to say something if you're uncomfortable. We will try to get out ahead of the iceburgs at Session 0, but we'll have debriefings at the end of sessions to talk and X, N, and O cards to make sure everyone is truly enjoying themselves.
