About the adventure
Have you ever wanted to step into the Colosseum — blades flashing, crowds roaring, your name echoing across an ancient city? Welcome to **Fladin: Blood and Sand**, a combat-focused D&D 5e campaign set in my home-brewed world of Fladin, inspired by the myth and spectacle of ancient Rome and Greece. You begin at the lowest ranks of the games — criminals, slaves, or volunteers seeking fame — and rise through brutal tiers of battle to become champions of the arena. Whether you fight for gold, glory, or freedom, the sands of the Colosseum will test every skill, spell, and ounce of courage you possess. **Gameplay Focus** Tactical, cinematic combats with dynamic maps and evolving hazards: fire pits, flooded arenas, chariot duels, and monster cages. *Rapid leveling*: reach level 2 after your first victory, and advance quickly through levels 3-6 as your legend grows. Between battles, enjoy *light roleplay*: train, upgrade gear, negotiate with sponsors, flirt with fame, or plot rebellion against your masters. **Tone & Difficulty** Deadly but fair. You’ll earn your triumphs through teamwork and smart play. We’ll decide together during Session 0 whether characters can fall permanently or be rescued. **What You’ll Experience** A clear, focused mini-campaign (level 1-6) perfect for players who love combat or short-term adventures. Original monsters, custom magic items, and an evolving “audience favor” system that rewards heroic style and crowd-pleasing moments. A taste of the wider world of Fladin — ancient temples, rival patrons, and whispered divine meddling behind the games. Can you earn your freedom and immortality in song, or will the arena claim another forgotten name?

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi, I’m Gordon (they/them) — a storyteller, worldbuilder, and Dungeon Master with hundreds of hours of campaign experience. I’ve spent the last few years crafting worlds full of vibrant NPCs, dangerous mysteries, and hand-forged magic items you won’t find anywhere else. My goal is simple: to make every session feel cinematic, personal, and unforgettable. Whether you’re a new adventurer or a veteran of countless quests, I’ll help you bring your character’s story to life — and shape a world that remembers your actions.

Creating your character
System: D&D 5e (2014 rules, compatible with 2024 updates). Level 1 Start, using Point Buy or Standard Array. You may use any official Wizards of the Coast material; UA and homebrew by request. Backgrounds and species are fully open - the arenas attract warriors, mages, and exiles from every corner of Fladin. 🎨 Backstory Freedom Decide why you fight: A prisoner condemned to entertain the masses? A volunteer chasing fame and coin? A mystic seeking divine approval through combat? A mercenary serving a patron’s secret agenda? I’ll help you shape your concept into something that fits the world and gives you personal hooks for future sessions. New to D&D? No problem - I’ll walk you through creation step by step.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All you need is: A computer with a stable internet connection. **Discord** for voice chat. **Roll20** for tactical combat maps. **D&D Beyond** for character sheets (I’ll share campaign links and content). I’ll gladly assist with setup and character import before Session 0. Bring your enthusiasm, a headset, and the will to survive!

How Gordon creates a safe table
Session 0 is completely free. We’ll cover tone, player expectations, and personal limits using Lines & Veils plus Stars & Wishes. If anyone prefers to share their limits privately, they can message me directly. Long sessions include breaks, and after each game I stay for debrief and feedback. My table welcomes everyone - disrespect, harassment, or prejudice of any kind has no place in our arena.
