About the adventure

DELTA GREEN: THE BROADCAST Asynchronous play-by-post The year is 1997. The world hums with dial-up static and late-night radio. Conspiracies bloom like mold in the corners of the country—ancient symbols on church walls, secret codes buried in television snow, voices whispering between frequencies. Something’s stirring in the static, and someone wants you to find it. You’ve been pulled into an investigation that shouldn’t exist. The files are incomplete, the witnesses unreliable, and every answer spawns three new questions. But orders are orders—and the truth won’t stay buried forever. This game is about tracing patterns no one else can see. It’s about half-burned manuscripts, forgotten research labs, and people who stare too long at the noise until it starts to stare back. Every revelation pulls you closer to understanding—and closer to the signal waiting on the other side. Inspired by The X-Files, Twin Peaks, and the analog paranoia of late-90s conspiracy culture, this story mixes mystery, psychological tension, and creeping cosmic dread. It’s not about victory—it’s about how far you’ll go before the signal changes you. If you crave eerie tension, grounded characters, and that unsettling hum of the pre-digital world—flickering monitors, detuned radios, unanswered payphones—then tune in. Welcome to the dark between frequencies.

About me

I'm Kenny a Dungeon Master with over 10 years of experience crafting immersive, adventurous campaigns filled with rich roleplay, unexpected twists, and a healthy dose of humor. I love the rules and use them to enhance the story, but I’m no rules lawyer, fun and flow come first. Whether you're new to the game or a seasoned adventurer, I create a welcoming space where characters shine and players feel heard. I’ve trained new hires professionally, so I’m patient and passionate about teaching mechanics, lore, and roleplay techniques to newcomers. Outside the game, I’m into sports, the outdoors, and spending time with family. I’m also a big fan of fantasy literature, philosophy, and the classics, all of which inspire the depth and flavor of my storytelling. If you’re looking for a game that balances epic quests, character-driven drama, and table laughs, I’d love to roll with you.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character Creation Agents start as rookie operatives, recently recruited or activated—people who’ve seen enough to be useful, but not enough to understand what’s really going on. Players can create their characters using the Agent’s Handbook, the official Delta Green character generator app, or one of the provided pre-made agents if you prefer to jump right into the mystery. I’m happy to walk you through the process or help refine your concept if you’re new to the system. We’ll use the standard generation method from the Agent’s Handbook to determine stats and skills. No outside supplements or homebrew material are needed—just the core rules. To add depth and help drive the story, players should also create a backstory with family, friends, and personal connections. These ties can influence your character’s motivations, offer plot hooks, and affect sanity and stress during missions, making your agent feel like a real person caught in extraordinary circumstances. Keep your concept grounded: real people with useful skills, not superheroes. Federal agents, local law enforcement, scientists, journalists, or ordinary civilians suddenly pulled into something far beyond their clearance level.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

How to Prepare To play in this game, all you need is a Discord account—we’ll handle everything else there. Dice rolls, discussion, and roleplay all happen in Discord, so no additional programs or virtual tabletops are required. Steps to get ready: 1. Create a Discord account if you don’t already have one. 2. Join our game server (link will be provided once you sign up). 3. Familiarize yourself with basic chat and dice commands—we’ll walk you through the rolling system used in the game. 4. Bring your character (created with the Agent’s Handbook, premade options, or the generator app) and your backstory connections for richer roleplay. That’s it! Once you’re in Discord, you’ll be ready to dive straight into investigation, horror, and mystery.

What Kenny brings to the table

As your GM, I focus on creating a tense, immersive, and mysterious experience. Expect atmospheric storytelling, eerie suspense, and a slow burn that keeps you questioning what’s real. I use descriptive narration and character voices to bring the world and NPCs to life. Combat in this game is gritty and dangerous, not cinematic. Delta Green is about survival, investigation, and smart decision-making, so expect stakes to feel real—every choice matters. I embrace the Rule of Cool when it fits the story, but mechanics will generally follow Rules as Written from the Agent’s Handbook. I’ll provide pre-made resources, story hooks, and guidance throughout the game. Players can expect a collaborative environment where backstory, personal connections, and character decisions influence the world. Your actions, ingenuity, and paranoia will all shape how the story unfolds.

Homebrew rules

This game mostly follows the Rules as Written from the Agent’s Handbook, but I use a few homebrew adjustments to streamline play and enhance tension: • Sanity & Stress Tracking: Optional short-term stress effects or temporary conditions for particularly harrowing scenes, to make investigations feel more dangerous. • Clues and Investigation Bonuses: Characters with relevant skills or backstory connections may get small narrative bonuses when following leads, rewarding creativity and roleplay. • Critical Failures: Rolling a natural 1 on a skill check can have minor complications beyond failure, adding stakes to risky choices. • Recovery & Healing: Recovery times for injuries or trauma may be slightly faster for PbP pacing, but serious damage and permanent consequences still matter. These tweaks are designed to keep tension high, reward creative play, and make the story feel personal without overcomplicating mechanics.

Safety

How Kenny creates a safe table

Player Safety and Comfort Player safety and comfort are a top priority. We’ll have a Session 0 where we go over boundaries and safety tools, including X, N, & O, for anyone unfamiliar with them. This ensures everyone knows how to communicate limits and feel secure during play. Throughout the game, we maintain an open dialogue outside of play for any concerns, feedback, or discussion about sensitive content. Players are encouraged to speak up at any time if something feels too intense or uncomfortable. The goal is to create a safe, respectful environment where players can fully immerse themselves in mystery, horror, and investigation while feeling secure in their boundaries.
