Creating your character

In our first meeting, we will create characters together using Roll20. As we gather as a group, we'll talk about the main ideas of our adventure and work to build a team that matches everyone's interests and strengths. Session 0 is a free session. Once you sign up, your fee will be removed before it is charged.

Preparing for the session

Your investment in the campaign sessions covers all your costs, so you won't need to pay for anything else. As part of my campaign, you will have access to the Player's Handbook, the Monster Manual, and a wealth of additional resource content. To participate, you will need the following: A. A free subscription to Discord B. A free subscription to Roll20 Virtual Tabletop C. Google Chrome D. A computer is preferred, though some smartphones can run these resources; it is not ideal.

40 plus years of experience. I will player your character right along with you giving you options and understanding of your ability. I have a professional account on D&D Beyond and Roll20. I will show how to use voice and acting skills to fully embrace the fun of roll play. I will ensure that each player has the patience and understanding to feel comfortable to learn, and enjoy the game from the beginning. Here's why I charge for my services: I incur various subscription fees necessary to run this campaign, and I possess a valuable skill set that enables me to effectively teach others how to play. Moreover, for every hour of playtime, I dedicate about an hour to preparation to ensure a rich and engaging experience. Additionally, playing in two other campaigns each week—where I also pay to participate—has deepened my enjoyment of the game. This investment enhances gameplay quality, as the DMs are exceptionally talented and the players are committed. By charging, I foster a sense of dedication that not only elevates the gaming experience but also encourages the formation of lasting friendships, both in and out of the game. I will give discounts to groups that join together. Also, after about 5th or 6th level, the fee will reduce as you need less game support and learning.

Homebrew rules

Home Rules: Most will be explained as we go. If you don't understand the rules below, no worries, you will later. Critical Hit: Does full base damage plus Roll. Flanking gives players AND monsters advantage on rolls. Surprise Round to only those monsters and players that are successfully hidden before attacking. The initiative begins after the surprise round. There is no Player vs Player combat There will be some rules that will change as players become more comfortable in the game. For instance, excessive discussion in combat will cause a loss of turn or a attack of opportunity.

How World of Toad Gaming creates a safe table

Players are expected to adhere to the following behavior guidelines: 1. Differentiate between character reactions and player reactions. While characters may treat each other unkindly in-game, players must separate that from their real-life behavior. 2. Treat the Dungeon Master and fellow players with kindness, positivity, and courtesy at all times. 3. When youth are participating in the game, there must be at least one adult (18 years or older) present to ensure youth protection guidelines are followed. 4. If a player's behavior is concerning, a private in-game message should be sent to express the concern and request modifications. If the behavior is severe, the game will be paused, players will be muted, a break will be called, and a one-on-one discussion will take place in a private chat. 5. If a player’s disruptive behavior negatively impacts the game or other players, that player will be removed from the game and the Discord server. Additionally, this will result in a mark on the player’s StartPlaying subscription.
