About the adventure

The Tyranid Swarm has come to the moon of Tantalus, and the warriors of the Imperial Guard have fought back as hard as they can. They have failed. Tantalus is doomed and has only hours to live. Unfortunately, a shuttle crash has stranded a Magos of the Adeptus Mechanicus and vital information on the Tyranid threat on the surface. Only the mighty Space Marines of the Deathwatch can save the magos. Do you have what it takes to be one of the Emperor's angels of death? Do you Know No Fear? Extraction is an adventure for Deathwatch, a game where players play Space Marines in the Warhammer 40K universe. Players will start at the standard experience for a Deathwatch Space Marine. After Extraction, we will move on to the adventure Shadows of Madness.

About me

Hello, I'm Caestus. I've been playing roleplaying games ever since I was old enough to do so. I 've played or run 100 different rpgs. I'm a big fan of science fiction and fantasy. I've been running games for friends and family for years. While I feel that telling a good story is a key part of being a good gamemaster, more important than the story is making sure all the players at the table have a good time; I consider that the chief duty of any gamemaster. I hope to run a wide variety of games here, especially less common games, and I hope you enjoy playing RPGs with me.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players should create a standard Deathwatch character according to the rules in the Core book. Options from later books are available. We will be using the available errata. I am available by message or voicechat to assist. There will be a free session 0 to help flesh out character concepts.

The current party

We currently have a Flesh Tearers assault marine and a Bood Angel Apothecary.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need roll20 and discord accounts. They will need a mic, but not a camera. Players will need a copy of the Deathwatch core book. Some familiarity with the world of Warhammer 40K could be helpful but isn't necessary.

What Caestus brings to the table

I'll bring an understanding of the rules and a roll20 packed with maps, enemies, music and even sound effects. It will enable effective tactical combat, which will be a major focus, along with trying to convey the feel of the Warhammer 40K universe.

Safety

How Caestus creates a safe table

We will discuss player's lines and veils during the session 0. Deathwatch is a game of intense, science-fiction warfare. A Space Marine is made for war and players can expect plenty of combat
